What is your Length of stay

What do you consider the perfect length of stay at the world? We usually end up staying 7 nights so we can take everything in at a nice leisurely pace.

Our last trip was 9 days/8 nights our up coming trip is 10 days/9 nights, we take longer trips so we can thaw out a bit from the "frozen tundra". Being that we are from Wisconsin we fly down (3.5 hr flight) instead of making the 23hr almost 1500 mile drive. We have talked how one of these years we would like to pull the camper down and stay at FW, then do another week or 2 around Florida. But when gas had been well over $3/gallon it was much cheap to fly and do a resort rather than pull the camper with the truck at 8-9 mpg then stay at FW. Now with the low gas prices it looks like we should have done it for our February trip.

We park hop, one park in the morning then a different in the afternoon/evening with some down time at the resort in between, this year we are also planning on going to the ocean for a day and maybe the gulf another day.

Seriously - After expanding from 7 nights to at one time 14 nights, we have finally settled on 12. We get to do everything without having to rush, and have ample time for taking it easy.

I really enjoyed my 11 Days / 10 nights Trip I took in July. Gave me ample time to stroll about the parks and a side visit for a few days at Universal. My usual trips are 8 Days / 7 nights but I enjoy the longer trips.

14 days is ideal for us. Day 1 is an early start to drive to the airport and fly down. DME to CBR, check in and hit the pool then DTD for dinner. Get a good nights rest. We then have 2 pool, resort, and/ or DTD days inserted in to 10 park days. Last day is swimming at resort then DME to airport. Land and drive home, it's around 11pm. We have done a 10 day, 12 day, and a two short MVMCP trips of 4-5 days each. 14 is our optimum length. Kids still like to go like park commandos but the wife can take it easy, get her autograph items for the trip signed, and just meet us for a meal, shop, or hang out in a hammock. I tend to keep up with the kids.

8 nights this upcoming October trip. We are taking a side trip to Universal and have extra days built in for those parks. Plus we are taking our grandchildren, who will be 2 and 6 months, NOT ALONE....their parents are coming too! We need the extra nights to get them settled and rested so they and the rest of us are not miserable. We are driving, they are flying. Keeping the parks the kids go to to MK and AK, their parents are looking forward to one night alone in EPCOT while the children are safely tucked away with us and we are looking forward to one day at EPCOT before the children and parents arrive!

We've combined our trips to WDW with other destinations the last few years. We've done Key West, VA and Washington DC, Wildwood Springs Lodge (in Steeleville MO.), Nashville, etc. for several days, and then we head off to WDW for 4 or 5 days.

last two trips were 7 nights, we arrived early enough on both trips to get to the parks by noon. The second trip we also had a late enough flight that we were able to to have an eighth day in the parks. It still was not enough time!!! So much more we wanted to do. We have talked about making the next one 10-12 days, and taking a day off from the parks in the middle.

Typically three nights is what we do...and then go to the beach for the rest of the vacation. I think four nights would be ideal--with park days two of the days and a water park day in the middle. More than that and I'd go crazy and be dirt poor. That said, I really really prefer to stay in well situated deluxe resorts so with only a few days you can often minimize travel time and maximize fun. To each his or her own.

Our vacation next week is our longest at 9 days. And I couldn't be more excited (helps that the weather in FL has apparently been wonderful). We usually do 8 nights. Shortest was 5 nights and it was way too short. At least a week for us.

I think it depends how often you go honestly. If you go once a year or more, you probably don't need to do more then a week or even less. But if you're from a different country and in Holiday I'd go 2 weeks, but make sure I'd do UO and some other things too. My wife and I since we go pretty much every year and don't have kids yet pretty much like doing 5 days 4 nights at a deluxe resort. Keeps the price down and since it's just 2 of us we're efficient going around the parks and rides, so we see everything in 5 days. When we go to my parents timeshare though we always do 8 day 7 nights, bc that's how long they have the timeshare for. We do 2-3 of UO though then. When we stay at Disney we never go to UO bc it doesn't make sense to. The key is picking when you want to go to maximize your stay with lines.

The best times we had were the two week trips we did in August 2001 and 2002. Camps closed but there was 2 weeks until school started. We had 5 day park passes, 3 day water parks, sneak 1 day over to Uni and do DTD, resort pool days the other days. This gave us plenty of time in the parks, but also enough down time that we were never exhausted. One down day we went to dinner at Midevil Times, the kids loved it.
