I'm going to say that I think Grand Floridian is the worst in terms of actual value for the dollars that you are spending. It is a fantastic resort, don't get me wrong. But when you consider just how expensive it is, I think it lags in terms of value for your dollar.

In ever other category the OP asked about, I'd say the All-Stars are all about equal.

However, it is my firm opinion that there is no such thing as a 'bad' Disney resort. Every single one of them, including the cheapest All-Star rooms, are superior to most mainstream hotels. And all of them give you the perks of being on property and in the Disney bubble. Would I stay at a monorail resort if I could afford it? Absolutely, in a heartbeat. But would I also stay at All-Star Sports if that was what was within my budget to make a Disney trip possible? Absolutely as well. It's all relative.

Least Value... GF, I'd expect a lot more for the rate
Lacking Service... None, its not the resort but the inattentive CM thats handling your complaint.

Overall worst ? I've never stayed at them but I think the All Star resorts are generally rated lowest on the travel reviews sites and travel books I've read. The reason for the low ratings are always kid noisy, crowded conditions, lacking in overall design and layout. You get what you pay for so I'd naturally expect less from a value resort.

Don't forget you can hear other people's toilets flushing.

I agree that the Floridian is the most overrated and has the least value. The walls are paper thin. The parking lot is far away too.

As a Florida resident I think the best value going right now is the Coronado. They have a great pool and the rooms have all been renovated, and I can always book a room at a fair price.

My wife and I enjoyed the Coronado as well. It is a pretty spread out hotel, but it was always a pleasure to walk around the property to get where we needed to go.

I've only stayed in like 3 Disney resorts, not sure I can even answer this one.

I liked AOA. I quite liked the look of POP when I visited. I liked CBR. I loved our stay at Kidani.

This post made me go and check Trip Advisor to see which one was lowest ranked. Not that it is a great metric but interesting none the less. Surprisingly it was Coronado at 177th in Orlando. Do they have a lot of maintenance issues? Seemed to come up in the reviews

I wonder if this could have anything to do with being the main resort booked for conventions and the such. You just might have more "non Disney" types in there leaving reviews who may be a little harsher than someone looking for the Disney experience?

Totally guessing because that surprises me too.

I think your on to something with the conventioneers. Also before the room renovations, I was in the camp of not really liking the Coronado. Is it my favorite Disney resort, not by a long shot. But for my purposes (weekend trips) it usually is a good deal for a Disney resort. As a Florida resident it always seems to be the least expensive moderate, by about $30-$50 a night, so it's a no brainer for us. Plus my kids are all in on water slides and the pool has a pretty good one.

I think each resort has their weak a strong points. I have stayed at many different resorts but I have to say I had a poor experience in a cabin at Fort Wilderness. There was a lot of space for the money but it didn't seem like Disney to us. While we went out to get food there was a bad storm and we returned to many broken limbs all over our cabin. That did us in quickly and we changed to the Contemporary.
I actually don't mind value resorts. For about $100 a night you get free airport transportation, buses around Disney property, overly themed decor, and a decent pool. Yes they are crowded but it never bothers me. You also aren't in the room long enough to let the size bother you. On the other hand I have stayed at all the Mods and some of the Deluxe resorts. The only aspect of some of the Deluxe resorts that makes them worth the money would be alternate forms of transportation to the parks. Yes it is nice to have a more appealing property and pool area but if I am going to a park everyday then I don't spend much time at the pool. If I was planning a vacation with a few resort days then I will def. splurge on a more expensive resort.
I don't think there are bad resorts. I think there are resorts to meet your needs depending on the type of trip you wish to have.

I stayed there once. I didn't really care for it. It wasn't bad and the grounds were very pretty but it just wasn't Disney style in my opinion. We had no maintenance issues but the food choices at that time weren't our favorite and we had very long walks to the bus and main pool from our location.

For me just touring the grounds i would have to say the Value because you are so far from everything. But they are fun to visit the theming and having your pic taken with the giant icons is fun.
But some of the moderates are not that great i hear and see from touring around that the bus stops some are far from some areas and you can't walk from checkin to your room at least not easy.
But on the other hand some people could say the deluxe are worst because they are expensive. So i guess depending on who you are you each one of us would have a different answer

You can still get pretty close. A rack rate All Star room at 30% discount during value season is only going to cost you about $67 a night. That's way cheaper than any La Quinta, Holiday Inn Express, or similar, and with far more activities and amenities.

In the "real world," anything below $80 is going to be very risky. A WDW value resort for that price is a great deal.

While that's a nice scenario, Disney doesn't offer 30% off Value Resorts. It's typically 15% off or less.

Every Disney resort has pluses and minuses. I would stay at any resort but since I am dvc does make much sense to stay at value. But when we stayed at pop century we loved it.
