What is the best time of year to go to DL?

Hi All! :wave:

I went to DL for the first time in Jan 2010. I was in town for a conference so I was there for a week and had a week of tickets so I leisurely went to DL every day. Now my DH and I are planning a 2 week vaca next year to hit San Fran and head down the coast to DL. We have the luxury of picking whenever we want to go. When is the best time to go to DL? For temps as well as crowd levels.

The begining of june is usually nice. Crowd not as large as school there is in session til the middle of the month( you can hit field trips of students though). Temps usually round 75. any time there the weather is great (no humidity like wdw) The problem is you need to check for refurbs/closures ( you want to see everything ) and for anahiem conventions -as this affects the parks. Check out mice chat for info too. I'll be there 6/16 :sohappy: and I'll be in wdw 9/18-27 when you go:wave:

We have had good luck the past 3 years by going in the first week of November. The Halloween decor has been pulled and the Christmas decor hasn't gone up yet. Because of this, many of the locals stay home. The So Cal weather in early Nov is usually very temperate and pleasant. Space Mtn. may be closed at this time in order to remove the Halloween theme. But, most of the attractions have a minimal wait and some were walk ons.

How about the first week of September? I would assume the first day after Labour Day the place would be a ghost town with school being back. This is a time we plan on going this year

We are hoping this is the case. our first day in the parks will be June 3, staying for 6 days. Hoping to at least be able to stroll through Carsland. Don't care so much about the rides but would love to be able to get some photos, etc. and since they opening isn't slated for June 15 (I think) we are hoping locals will be waiting until then to go, leaving the parks a bit on the uncrowded side.

Not quite sure whether access to Cars Land will be available until June 15.

What about spring time? Like March or April - but not around Easter. Is it super busy then? How is the weather?

It's not super busy during March or April, but it's not completely bare either. The crowds are pretty fair, but just remember nighttime is when crowds kind of pick up because people are coming to visit from work or school.

The weather is nice during March or April. It may rain a little but usually the sun's out.

Thanks! I am thinking it will be spring time but I really don't know. Either that of fall of 2013.
