Arghhh! I want to ride all of the BTMRRs so bad! I love this attraction, but sadly have only been on DL and the MK's so far. I honestly love both so much. DL's has a lot more wildlife and the new finale hill which is really well done. But then the MK has a longer track, is a little faster and has the big flooded mine town scene and the hot springs. Tokyo's is very similar to the MK, but does have the extra finale in the cavern where you pass by the bats and waterfalls. Paris does seem to have the best one just watching videos.

I guess I really need to go to TDL and DLP! LOL!! I will say, unfair or not, Paris has the upper hand with a lot of these attractions just because theirs are a lot newer and improvements in engineering and technology allowed for greater effects and designs.

BTW, love these polls! It's fun to see what people think. It would be cool to see a Disney park that instituted all the bests from around the world into one park.

WDW has a longer track and flooded Tumbleweed but DL has the explosive final hill. Which I hope WDW gets for the 50th. DL turns and curves seem tighter and a little more thrilling due to the smaller space. Btw not sure why everyone always says Paris is the best version. If you take away the tunnels under the river the rest of the track layout is nearly identical to MK and DL's versions.

Good point about Disneyland's curves and twists being tighter. I do like the Magic Kingdom's track layout better than Disneyland, just because it is a little bit longer and because it is a noticeable 5 or 6 MPH faster. I think another reason Paris is so highly regarded, take in mind that I have not ridden it, is because it is situated on an island and makes for a more unique Big Thunder experience. I always thought this was cool because it seems like it may have been a slight nod to the canceled Western River Expedition area at the Magic Kingdom. Also, I believe Paris' Big Thunder is the fastest at 40 MPH, which would make it more thrilling; especially over the original's 28 MPH.

Paris has the TNT explosion on the last lift hill like DL now. But last I heard they were having issues with it working properly. Didnt know Paris was the fastest version but looking back now I remember that last tunnel back to the mainland is fast

PARIS. The return tunnel under the river in complete darkness is a total hoot!

Paris>Tokyo>Orlando>Anaheim

Okay, I am dying to know what happens in the tunnel!!! You can never really see anything on Youtube videos during that part! Are there dips or is it a long slight descent underneath to the other side of the island? Does it kind of twist or bank slowly as it makes it's way over to the mountain island? I seriously want to know! Hahahaha

Slowly descends into a slight left bank on the way over into the first lift, the glowing pools on the right. The return banks right and the descent is faster and you get some airtime cresting the hill back into the station.

Thank you very much for the description! I have been wondering for 26 years what happened in there. One day I will be able to experience it!

I'm not a huge fan of BTMR in general--I like to ride it as something I enjoy doing at Disney, but I'm not the type to ride it twice in a visit. However, BTMR in Paris is an entirely different beast. Between the island presentation, the last cave section, the gorgeous views, and the sheer thrill factor (at least according to Disney standards), it's an absolutely incredible ride.
