What is the best autograph book???

my daughter is three and she loves all the characters. I was wondering what you guys have had for your kids and what they liked. The descriptions on the disney store site along with the pictures are terrible to make any decision off of.

The basic difference is one is soley for autographs - no spots to insert pictures. And then the larger option is photo and autographs. So there is one side for a picture and the other for autograph. They changed this b/c so many people use their autograph books as a scrapbook. Lots of people make their own and bring them too. I saw a lot more homemade ones before Disney brought out the ones that allowed for pictures. I have the classic blue autograph book personalized from Mickey Mouse but have used it as a scrap book by having a picture page and then a signature page.

The first year we went I made one for my son. I look plain index cards (the large ones) found pictures on the internet of the characters (in their cartoon state) and printed them one the index cards using the disney font for the names then took it to staples and had them bind it with a spiral ring. It was ok but it got kind of messy by the end of the trip.

Last year and this year... I'm taking pictures of my son with the characters from out previous trips and making a soft cover book with shutterfly. The charaters seemed to love seeing their picture and his. It was a lot of fun.

We first took my DD when she was 2 1/2 and had the authography book where you sign on one side and insert a picture on the other. I love that one. I have gotten her one just like that for this trip. Can't wait to use it. Good Luck and have a GREAT trip!

My creative wife thinks out of the box a bit. We have done school bags, backpacks, quilt blocks, etc.. The school bag is neat as they can show off their autographs each day. My crafty wife got a plane linen type backpack and some sharpies and away you go. She teaches pre-K so she does a bag as well. We take quilt blocks each time and she intends to make a signature quilt. I also got an animated encyclopedia of Disney/ Pixar characters and we get that signed. The characters really ham it up when they see their own picture or you interact with them. Since there are 4 of us we each get something signed.

When you go take some extra large, fine pointed sharpies that are about the size of a good cigar. We use them every trip and the characters in the costumes have an easier time with a bigger marker than with a pen or pencil. They also show up great. Oh, as to the post, my wife likes to mix and match so she can tell the trips apart, but she likes the combo picture/autograph book alot.

Honestly, I think the blue one with this Mickey Characters is the best. My daughter got the tinkerbell one in May and ran out of pages for the characters to sign. By the end of the trip, she was intentionally leaving her book in the stroller when she determined the character she was going to meet was not important enough to take up one of her prized pages :)

Have you seen the handmade autograph books at www.thishandmadelife.etsy.com? Characters love them because they can fold them over, they are large, good for markers, etc. When we used these at Disney, we got several thumbs up from characters :) You can also post pics in them as well. Sturdy paper. Hope this helps!

The one visit when we did them, I made them. I used journals and then customized them so that each character had several dedicated pages to sign...and so I could choose to add pictures to it after the fact. Of course DD6 (who was 4 at the time) decided to scribble all over the post trip and ruin them- but they were great until then.
