What is INSIDE the castle?

You can forget about NORAD's South Eastern headquarters.
I thought they relocated that to the Tree of Life when AK opened in 98? That way they could make room for the anti-aircraft particle beam control system that is mounted on the wand attached to Spaceship earth.

Ok, we know that on the "second floor" we have Cinderella's Royal Table, food prep areas, a small cast breakrrom and cast restrooms. What's above from there? Another breakroom (soon to be an office), and a stairwell. That's it. The lit window you see from the front of the castle is nothing but a light-box that sits on one of the landings of the starwell. There are a several doors as you go up. Several exit outside to some of the small walkways around the spires. A couple more open onto small unused spaces. And the few other half-sized openings? They contain the lighted windows and such.
There are also several elevators within the castle. Hope this satisfies your curiosity (and doesn't kill too much magic).

Oh! And Walt's head. That's under the castle.

Hmm. For being your first post, you sure seem to know a lot. Welcome!

"Several" elevators? I can imagine one or maybe two, but not several. The space up there isn't as large as it looks from ground level. It is forced perspective.

When I was there 3 years ago they were painting the castle and a large crane was hovering over it. You could clearly see that it was smaller when the crane was next to it.

There's a "Cast Members only" elevator for show performers (Cinderellabration, Surprise Celebration, etc). that leads to a somewhat cramped dressing room.

Which is next to the security room which has hols in the wals so that some CM's can peep into the dressing room and wath the preformers change.

But thats another topic.

Anybody have a picture of Walt's Apartment? I've never heard of this before
I recently watched a Travel Channel special, which mentioned the apartment saying that it was used for many years by Disney World telephone operators.

Old news. And those holes are no longer there.

I thought Eisner was having the castle rehabbed into his own personal command center, as his double-secret nerve center to run Disney after he leaves. :lookaroun

Ya. The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough closed after 9/11 because there was rumor that Sleeping Beauty Castle was placed high on the terrorist's list. *shudder* I think you can still see some of the pieces on DL's Main Street in the windows of some shops.
That's sad to hear. :(

I thought it was because of the AWDA, there's no wheelchair access to the castle.

And you're all forgetting about the Illuminatti temple where Walt's head resides. He was a 33rd degree Mason and the temple was constructed in a symbolic act between the two world-controlling secret societies. Every year, representives of each come together to perform dark rituals sworn on Walt's preserved skull. Seriously, I read it on this guy's website. A lot of the imagineer's technology was given to them by the Grey aliens who crashed in Nevada in 1947. Area 51 is actually a secret Disney theme park testing ground.

Really? That's so sad! :( I remember walking through there as a kid and was looking forward to it next March when I go back. I had also been hoping to grab some pics of the scenes. Sleeping Beauty is among my favorite disney movies and I remember the scenes being amazing. Rats! At least I have my memories (though with each year, they fade more and more. It's been a long time since I was 8).

I actually got to go up in the castle when i was a cast member. I became friends with a security guard. There was nothing in the towers, you couldn't even go in them, they are completely unfinished. And A LOT smaller than you think. When you go into the main tower, or tink's platform, you can actually feel the tower swaying from side to side. It's horrifying!!! You also have a view of downtown orlando in the far distance. It completely destroyed any "magic", but it was a once in a lifetime experience that very few ever do!!!

I took my first trip to WDW when i was 3, and when people would ask me what was in the castle, I told them it was nothing but a big bathroom. lol thats all that I used it for.
