What is Blu-ray like without the HDMI cables?

My Blu-ray player came either yesterday. Today I just an email from walmart saying that my HDTV is ready to be picked up. So I can hook up my Blu-ray player to my HDTV today Now I have not ordered my HDMI cables yet. So I wanted to ask if there is a big different if you don't use HDMI cable. The HDTV is a 1080p 32 inch screen.

I allready have about over 10 movies on Blu-ray. So I am thinking do I want to go ahead and start watching my Blu-ray movies now or wait until my HDMI cables come in? I am going to try to order the HDMI cables tonight. Sleeping Beauty is the first film that I want to see on Blu-ray.

You can use composite cables instead. There is a slight difference because you're converting a purely digital signal to analog and then back to digital, but to be honest most human eyes won't distinguish the difference.

Use component and be happy.

Then order a HDMI cable online for $5-$10 and sleep easy.

Whatever you do... don't pay $20+ for a HDMI cable.

For HD from Blu Ray you need either Component or HDMI. Composite will not give you HD resolution.

So if you have a Component cable, you won't notice much difference between that and HDMI (if any at all). Don't use composite as that will be in SD.

I believe my Blu-ray player did come with Component cables, but I am not sure. Also I will not be paying a lot of money for the HDMI cables. I will look online for some HDMI cables for around $5 or $10.

If my Blu-ray player only comes with Composite cables I will still go ahead and hook up my Blu-ray player and HDTV. I have a lot of standard Dvds that I can play on my Blu-ray player as I wait for the HDMI cables. After all my Blu-ray player is going to be used to play both Blu-ray and standard Dvd's anyway.

I think I will wait for the HDMI cables. For now I can enjoy my Blu-ray for Dvds.

Ditch those component cable and get an HDMI cable, with HDMI you can watch DVD's up-converted, also you need HDMI in order to view Blu-Ray at 1080p.
