Other than the nice CMs, I remember thinking while at WDW that I couldn't believe how clean everything was especially with so many guests. Another thing that impressed me was when I walked in to Cosmic Rays with my family I told DH to go get a table and I would order the food because I thought it would take a while. I ordered and by the time I paid and walked up to the counter my order was ready. I couldn't believe how fast it was!

There was a ton of things that impressed me.. these are just two that stick out at the moment.

I'm always impressed by Disney's attention to detail. They come up with things that I would never think of doing - like adding hidden mickey's into the park, carving the shrubbery into characters, decorating the waiting queue's perfectly so guests will be entertained. There's just so much, and it's not like that at any other amusement park I've ever been to.

Food Allergies

I was impressed with how the Disney Chefs bent over backwards to help us with our Son's food allergies. At the time we went last October, our 2 year old son had over 20 food allergies (including milk, eggs, beef, and wheat). We got a contact at WDW and for all meals, they had an allergy safe meal ready for him. My son got to eat like a king for once and did not get sick once (he can pretty much die is he ingests milk, even if it is baked in foods). This meant the world to my wife and I.

After the parks, this carried forward to the 4 day cruise we were on. Not only did he get great meals, but he got gourmet desserts prepared by the head chef. Every meal, this chef came to our table to see how he liked his dessert and before we went home, he gave us a book containing all the recipes.

The whole experience was magical, but to see how much my son enjoyed eating something besides the ordinary chicken and veggies was priceless.

I agree completely with you. It always amazes me every time I go back, and I go every year.

The first thing that popped into my mind was the baby care centers. I was so impressed with them, especially the one in the MK. I loved the private nursing room with the rocking chairs and low lamp light....the huge, clean changing tables with the gigantic paper coverings for them.....the bathroom for parents.....the area with little tables and chairs and a tv showing the disney channel.....the microwaves.....the high chairs.....Amazing! And during the holidays they even had a little xmas tree decorated with baby ornaments!

Those baby care centers make it so easy to take a baby to the parks. It would be difficult to do without them.

There are so many things to name. I think just the overall experience is what impresses me the most. I am generally a cynical guy but disney is one place that makes me feel young again.

The size and scope of the whole complex is truly impressive. I realized this yesterday. I visited a local theme park called Kings Dominion. It was a nice enough place but it was so small and plain in comparison to WDW. I noticed little things that were missing like proper backround music and posted wait times for attractions.

One thing that comes to mind is the transportation. Imagine the logistics involved in transportation alone at WDW. You have monorails, boats, buses, trams.

I could ramble on for hours on what impresses me about WDW.:)

Wow...that's all I can say, wow. Hopefully, your son will grow out of some of those allergies. Food allergies can be very challenging, especially on vacation. How reassuring it must have been to know that your son's food was so carefully prepared. That's just Disney magic for you!

It really was amazing. There are no words describing how magical it made our vacation. Since October, my son has outgrown his wheat allergy, so there is hope.

No matter how many times I go to WDW, I'm still amazed at the amount of organization that goes into making things work. From food distribition to transportation to basic maintenance, somehow they get it done, day after day, 365 days a year, for over 35 years now. The whole place is not just an engineering marvel, but a logistical marvel as well.

As much as we complain from time to time about small lapses in some areas, on the whole, the resort is almost flawless in day to day ops.

The thing that impresses me most are the CMs. Especially at the California Grill. Last summer my family was eating there and everyone ordered desert except me (I wasn't hungry). The waiter I guess felt badly for me so he brought me a desert anyways and did not charge us for it. He was awesome too and always had something interesting to say.

But other than the CMs, its the great detail and work that went into all the rides and attractions.
