What Haven't You Eaten??

I've never eaten a turkey leg......and never will. Just seeing people walking around with those things, it makes me sick. I've also never eaten anything from the Brown Derby - I'm not a fan of anything on their menu. I've heard ravings about dole whips and strawberry swirls. I've had a dole whip (it's just "mehhh" and Walmart pineapple sherbet tastes just as good) but haven't found or seen any strawberry swirls (not sure if they even still have them there).

Yeah, I think it's been at least five years since the Strawberry Swirl left us.

Boma for breakfast was delicious and I will be going back...but maybe for dinner. I still have not tried a turkey leg yet, but the wife and I had dinner at Peco's Bills to try out the new menu and we were satisfied. I got the chicken fajita platter and she got the chicken burrito. I'll miss the old menu, but the new menu is a nice change and still very satisfying/delicious.

I never understood the disgust some people have for turkey legs. I can understand not liking them, some people don't like turkey, or smoked meats, but I don't understand the disgust that some people have just looking at them.

I love turkey (white meat only), but I see nothing appealing in eating or chewing on something that looks like it was freshly ripped off a turkey's carcass.

With you one the turkey leg. What a terrible thing to do to poultry. Tried my first churro at DLR. Wasn't impressed.

Clearly you have never killed/cleaned/butchered any fowl - because that is not what a leg freshly ripped off a carcass looks like. That may put you off of turkey forever - even the bland, sanitized, white meat. But I get it now. A lot of people cannot stand the sight of "unprocessed" food.. My wife is a bit like that as well. If I bring home sub-primals to butcher, she does not like to see them until they have become steaks.

The best part of the bird are the oysters, on the back, two little nuggets that roughly correspond to a tenderloin or backstrap on a mammal. The cook gets those :)

The only one that stands out to me, that I want to go to, but somehow have not made it to yet, is Narcoose's - I just never seem to end up there.

I finally pulled the trigger and ate there a couple years ago. Since then I've been back 2 more times, and never had a bad experience. Great food, great relaxed service, in a beautiful hardwood floored room with an amazing view of the World Showcase Lagoon. I just booked it today for my upcoming trip in April - can't wait!
