What Happens to WDW / Disney Parks during a massive correction / recession?

Its true. Many a times I had to work, more and lose vacation days and when I tried to take vacation, I was met with all sorts of feedback.
Oh, I see. Not me... where I work we accrue 6 hours every pay period (so 12 hours a month) and we don't lose it. (I currently have over a month's time due to the pandemic and I'll be using it!) They might frown upon longer than a 2-week at a time request, but I've never been turned down for a vacation request. In fact, I recall a couple of employees who had so many hours of time, they basically forced them to take time off. I don't seem to have that problem. ;)

What do you mean by that we shame people for recreation?
I'm sure other professions also get shamed, but teachers get really blasted for taking a day off. Different locations have different policies though.

I hope they are being given flexibility this year, but they are government workers, and clearly portions of the public dislike government employees.

Sigh.

Some of my relatives are retired govt workers and some neighbors dislike their retirement packages ( ie pensions ), jealousy...

I'm a governmental employee. 😇 Local government. Basically I work for a risk pool insurance company that insures the municipalities in our state - workers' compensation, property, etc. I'm in the risk management department and we train employees on how to be safer in their jobs. We train everyone from Police and Fire to Public Works and HR.

During the pandemic while most of us were working from home, as I was too, many of them were out and about doing their jobs because we still need all those things done that they do. I can also tell you that Covid has been our largest WC loss in history, cost-wise and lives.

Disney discounts in a recession to what happens if a ride burns down? I am disgusted where this place will go for next in a list of tragedies. We have gone from crazy to padded room insane.

Just to clarify, when I said Covid has been the largest loss in our history, I meant as in where I work, not mankind. Sorry, I should have worded that better! That would mean the biggest loss among all those we cover for insurance (municipalities in my state). Not only that, I was wrong, it's the SECOND largest lost. The actual largest loss in our history was Hurricane Harvey. I don't know the exact numbers from Covid, but it was in the millions and many fire and police employees lost their lives.

The seafood is pretty scrumptious!
It is. I’m between PCB and Destin as we speak. Say what you want about the “redneck riviera”, but it’s hard to find prettier beaches and better seafood. To stay on the recession topic, most restaurants are showing market price or no prices at all for their online menus and more than I’ve ever seen are charging an extra 3-5% for using anything other than cash. Guess Dave Ramsey is right….cash is still king.

There isn't much to talk about when it comes to Disney right now.

I wouldn’t take this spitball so seriously.

On recessions…it’s long overdue…nothing is working/functioning right now. Need a reset.

Hopefully not a third world, banana republic style one.

20 years ago or more... discounted tickets cheaper rooms. Today heavy crowds and more consumer debt. People will not let something like a lack of money deter them from doing what they want.
Consumer debt or slaves to debt is what fuels our economy. To retire and or get out of debt is basically just a dream for some. That dream can be made possible with a lot of blood sweat and tears.

Why DW and I LOVE debt...
We have NONE. No mortgage, pay off CCs monthly. But others don't :).
As a consequence? Savings Rates going UP. We are very glad that we saved a BUNCH, pre-retirement... and can make money off of the debt incurred by others. I've encouraged my children to do the same :).
