What happens to Test Track if GM goes under?

And almost any car you can buy in America was assembled in America by Americans paying American taxes.

Honda owns Honda, Toyota owns Toyota, and Nissan owns Nissan.

Very true. I drive a Nissan Titan. It was made in Tennessee by Americans, using parts supplied by Americans in American states that surround Tennessee. If you drive a Honda Accord, it was made in Ohio by Americans, using parts supplied by Americans in states that surround Ohio. Toyota makes all sorts of vehicles in America, by Americans and for Americans.

Funny thing is GM and Ford build a lot of cars in Mexico, Canada and Korea. And the people building those cars, while I'm sure they are nice, are not Americans. Even the Camaro, an "American" muscle car, was built in Canada by Canadians in a factory at St. Therese, Ontario before it was discontinued due to poor sales a few years ago.

Don't forget Honda also "owns" Acura. Toyota "owns" Scion and Lexus. And Nissan "owns" Infiniti.

And here's another plug to stop by Disneyland's Innoventions to see the Honda exhibit with that amazing ASIMO robot! They could get Honda to sponsor Test Track and have the ASIMO show in the post-ride area where they now display Buicks and Pontiacs. Seeing ASIMO run around and kick a soccer ball is more fun than sitting in a Buick.

Jeep and Hummer are not car companies. Jeep is owned by Daimler-Chrysler and Hummer is owned by the big GM itself.

GM will never fold because Fords are crap. They're just in a bit of a slump right now cause Daimler-Chrylser is beating the snot out of both of them.

Oh, and interestingly enough, Ford owns Volvo, Land Rover, Lincoln/Mercury, Mazda, and Jaguar; Daimler-Chrysler owns Jeep, Dodge, Mercedes, and Hyundai, and GM has Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Saturn, Subaru, Saab, GMC, Cadillac, and the ever popular Daewoo.

Honda owns Honda, Toyota owns Toyota, and Nissan owns Nissan.

Oh mighty clueless one, subaru owns themself GM ownED a 20% share not anymore but like i said before not enough to make any decisions about their cars which is why the are still good cars they did steal a few cars though. And if i wasnt driving a subaru it would be a ford. If ford released the rally focus here i would have bought that and saved about 8,000.

My thoughts exactly! ASIMO is made for EPCOT

Nope, Volkswagen owns Audi. You got it backwards. VW owns a few other brands as well.

My mistake. I thought I'd read that the Audi Group owned Volkswagen. Either way, they're hurtin' like GM right now anyway.

They even put it in their ads: Volkswagen...Drivers Wanted.

You are SOOOO smart! I bow at your uber intelligence...

They're made in Mississippi. By Mississippians...

(Being originally from Louisiana, I naturally question whether or not they're Americans... )

You have the Titan truck confused with the Titans football team.

I know I'll be accused of splitting hairs, but GM doesn't actually "own" Hummer. They own the rights to market the Hummer brand. The H2 and H3 were designed and engineered by GM. American General is still considered the owner of the brand itself. GM is more or less the commercial marketing arm for Hummer.

American General handles the military contracts.

You are correct. I got confused because a few days ago Nissan announced it was closing it's headquarters here in Gardena, CA and moving everyone to a new Nissan headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. It's been in all the local SoCal papers the past few days, and so I had Nissan=Tennessee at the top of my head. I knew my truck was built in Mississippi, but I just had all those local news stories in my mind.

Nissan Titans are built in Mississippi, which like Tennessee is another state in America where Americans work. Unlike Ford and GM plants building "American" cars in Canada, Mexico and South Korea that are then shipped to dealerships in the Midwest and sold to people who think they are somehow supporting their country by putting South Koreans to work.

You are incorrectly inferring that Nissan makes all their vehicles here and Ford and GM make all of their vehicles outside the USA. THIS is exactly my problem with media...they tell only half-truths.

Let's see...GM has a factory in Louisiana...does this not count in your "states where Americans work"?

The fact is, GM and Ford make more cars in the USA than any of the imports. We're giving the import makes too much credit for making a few cars here. I own two GM vehicles and both were made in the USA. They both have been rock-solid reliable, too.

Don't worry - the government will bail them out so they can continue to produce inefficent, oversized vehicles for people to finance beyond their current economic ability.

It's the American way.

If you think its expensive over in the States you should come to Britain, where we have to pay £3000 over what the Europeans pay. And then add on all the extra somethings they don't provide (mats, number plates etc).

You have cheap cars in comparison and should be enjoying it!
