What happened to the transportation announcement??

I was watching WKMG Local 6 on Wednesday and they made comments about a special announcement concerning transportation at Walt Disney World. It was never revealed, or at least I didn't hear what it was!! Did anyone else hear about this?? Is it the much rumored new monorail line with a new TTC or what?? :brick:

I think the soonest anyone will see announcements about transportation at Disney World will be at the same time Orlando, Orange County, and the State of Florida decide how to fix the transportation woes of the regional in general. Disney certianly would want to make sure what ever they do interfaces easily with what everyone else is doing.

Its not like DIsney is one big traffic Jam. When all the parks close at one time, things can get a little backed up but that has more to do with where DIsney's roads interface with I-4. I wont say anything at all about tourists and their driving habits.

The only incentive Disney would have to do something else would be to save money. There are about 950 bus drivers who operate about 250 vehicles. I couldnt even tell you how many mechanics there are. Then you have to add in maintenance facilites, Diesel Fuel and Liability insurance. It all adds up to a lot of money.
However, so does expanding the monorail system or something similar. When the longterm investment in another mode of transportation becomes cheaper than maintaining the current bus system in the long run, then something will be announced.

I would love to see Disney create a transportation system where you wouldn't need to take the buses everywhere except MK, EPCOT, GF, Poly, & the Contemporary. How likely this is, I just don't know.

They are.... they will connect it to Seattle's (at least Seattle's will go somewhere now) :lol:
