I asked this two weeks ago with no repsonse. I was at the MK last week with the other 40,000 folks and a few horse's you- know-what, but not a whole horse visible at the MK.

It seems that during really busy times the trolleys and other stuff that run up and down Main Street do not run, due to the crowds (its for safety and because its just too difficult to have them moving up and down the street when there is virtually wall-to-wall people). Someone can correct me on that, but, although I can't remember exactly when, I remember seeing the horse-drawn carriages not too long ago during the really slow season (either early this year of late last year)..

Back in the 80s and early 90s our family used to visit often, and always in July or August (peak times). The trolleys and horses were ALWAYS out back then. However, in the last 3-4 years, we have seen NO horses or trolleys - and not even a Main Street Vehicle of any type.

I guess they were having too many issues with people in the way, running over kids, or whatever. Sure is a bummer, those were so cool!

They only use the horses during slow season and NEVER during busy times!! This is for two reson: There is a safty issue with hitting people and during busy times the load noises can startle or firghten the horses casueing them to bolt. When the hourses are not being usd in MK they are kept in a stable in Fort Wilderness!!:king:

I was at the Magic Kingdom yesterday and did see the double decker trolley but did not see any horses. I am headed over to Fort Wilderness in a few minutes and see if all the horses are there.

Except every morning when they use them for the Trolley show. There area dancers who ride the trolley and get off to dance around it.

I remember that too; even have pics and I believe the MK was more crowded back then. Must be a legal issue as you suggest. Maybe will see them in October when we are going back.
