What happened to River Country?

I know that a disesction of one of my posts would hurt too, but sometimes when that happens, I need to take a step back and think about whether what was said to me was true (or had some truth to it) or not before I respond. It usually works out better and then I don't get people who are upset with me later.

Let's not get too deep into this, it would be a but of a stretch to say I was hurt by this kid's remarks. I know you are trying to be good friend. That is very admirable. I'm not trying to be mean at all when I say that this is not a big deal to me and that the whole conversation was in complete jest. I appreciate your kind words.

I read your TR and it sounds like you had a blast. I have visited in January the past two years and although the crowds are diminished, it's just not right to be walking around in parkas and gloves in central Florida. Last year we ran into a cold front that lasted the entire duration of our trip. This year I think we'll go in Oct. IS O'hana really worth getting up early for?

PS my boyfriend thinks you are my Doppleganger! ( I will post some of our pics later tonite)

The major problem with River Country lied in it's water system. The water was directly from Lake Buena Vista, when that water becomes filled with parasites and germs, then a park like River Country can no longer operate. I know a while back Disney had problems with the water of Lake Buena Vista, no longer being safe to swim in, they closed the beach at Fort Wilderness because the water was no longer safe to swim in, that same water fed into River Country. I loved River Country, thought it was so cool, but if I'm going to get sick just to go swimming then it's no longer an option. It was closed to keep people safe and to avoid any unnecessary lawsuits.

tink,

I wasn't just talking about Connor here...instead I meant anyone. There are a lot of people on these boards who are snarky...I've been around here long enough to find that out firsthand...but that's another topic.

I know what you're talking about with the weather in January. A cold front came through when we were there too. While it was a little disappointing and I thought it was wierd wearing gloves and scarves, it wasn't too bad outside. Plus, the good thing was that when it gets cold, everyone else runs for the hills. So we got to walk on a lot of rides because of it. I would definitely go back in January again...even with a cold snap.

About 'Ohana...yes, I thought it was quite good. I am NOT a morning person and for this breakfast we had to get up really early. However, I did enjoy the feel of the restaurant (very tropical feeling), the food was pretty good, although I thought the eggs were a little runny, but otherwise the meal was delicious, and we got plenty of interaction with the characters. I would definitely suggest eating there! (And yes, it is worth getting up early for...although we didn't have to get up SUPER early. Our reservation was for 10:10. )

So one of us is the evil twin huh? Hmm...wonder who it is... :lookaroun
