What happened to Pixie Hollow?

I'm SURE this has been answered elsewhere, but sifting through all the threads that a search for "Pixie Hollow" brings back is daunting.

I know the people on these boards have known (or strongly suspected) that PH was scrapped a long time ago, but was it ever actually announced by Disney? Or are they just hoping people forgot about it with the most recent press conference?

I'm not complaining, I assure you lol.

BTW, to answer your question I think Disney quietly let it die (its embarrassing enough that they officially announced it at the D23 Convention and everything) and quietly released the Circus land concept art.

Although I'm not enthused about Circus land, anything is better than the Pixie Hollow concept. Heck, I'd even take a Stitch/Pixar Character/Celebrate Today Land. :lookaroun

Shh...Celebrate Today is over...now it's "Let the Memories Begin" land. Filled with PhotoPass opportunities and PhotoPass pictures of other people. Sponsored by Kodak, because "taking pictures is making memories!"

I should be quiet, just in case upper management is listening.

I agree that PH was a pretty embarassing plan to announce. When I heard about it, all I could think was "not another Honey i Shrunk the Kids" type area. It just seemed to lack any kind of creativity.

Not only that but it was not themed to anything that has proven the test of time. It was just themed to a property spin off that had dvd success.

I heard that they are moving Pixie Hollow to DHS, so maybe they are replacing Honey play area with Pixie Hollow?

Disney announced on Tuesday that the pixies are moving to Epcot to have a role in the Flower and Garden Festival--that seems more appropriate for the characters given their (limited) DVD success. There, I would guess, they will slowly die over time while Tink gets to remain (rightfully) a symbol of the Walt Disney Company (and, therefore, found in the Magic Kingdom).

While many dad's may miss the eye candy they got to see in the Judge's Tent these last few years, I hear the princesses are starting their own sorority right in the middle of Fantasyland in a few years, so...even trade?

I dont get why they originally thought they had to build such a huge area for Tink and friends...something smaller tucked away in a corner like they did in Disneyland would have made way more sense. WHile I don't like the new Storybook Circus land area either, my hope is that most of it is temporary and will enventually be replaced by a new dark ride.

Hopefully, they will still do that. DL's Pixie area looks pretty neat. It doesn't HAVE to be a huge area....just a little corner somewhere in this vast expansion, with a few of those DL PH special effects thrown in for good measure.

Hate me if you want but I liked the idea of getting PH. I didn't think we needed a huge land but something similiar to DL would have been nice.
