Maybe they should call it: TPIWDWWUTBCDMGMSAHALBTAAAWASTPADMBNDHTABSHSCR

which stands for: That Park In Walt Disney World Which Used To Be Called Disney-MGM Studios And Had A Long Backlot Tour And An Actual Working Animation Studio That Produced Animated Disney Movies But Now Doesn't Have That Anymore But Still Has Some Cool Rides.

Ehh, that's too long. Perhaps just TPIWDWWUTBCDMGMS.

Aww, forget it. Leave it as Disney-MGM Studios. MGM is an easy abbreviation, and it's fun to say. Makes you sound all show businessy. Why change a familiar name? :)

Anyone think that given the relationship it could be changed to Disney-ABC Studios? This would not only address the short names (MGM to ABC) but also, given the ABC stuff that has popped up around the park in the last few years, it would kind-of make sence, at least from the whole branding standpoint.

"Hey Mom and Dad, Katie and I are goign to go to MGM real quick for ToT, we'll meet you at Spoodles for dinner."

Disney Studios is way too close to Universal Studios.

Interesting dilemma. If MGM doesn't try to renegotiate a contract, then Disney should drop the MGM. But if MGM stays, then the name would be the same. What if another studio wants in the game? Then is it possible we'll see Disney Warner Brothers Studios?

And then there's the whole "working studio" problem. Each year, there is less and less of a "working studio." So Studios actually becomes a falsehood in the title. Maybe it should be "Movie Kingdom," or "Mega Movie Hit Land," or "Entertainment Prototype Conglomeration Of Theatre/TV."

Okay. Maybe just Disney Studios (but not working).

hahah yea

If the Deal is Worked Sony will own the MGM name, company, and studios (the Real Ones) so what about Touchstones / Disney Studios or Disney / Hollywood Studios (Disney owns them as ABC) hey even Miramax / Disney Studios

What has actually been made at the location in Florida, other than the Bette Midler film of her and some ledge from a building?

I'm not talking about an outside set or prop that was moved there to be driven by for the 'studio tour' .

As much as I think Disney Studios would sound good, I can't help but to side with the MGM name due to the simple fact that that is what it has been names since its orgin or well since opening day stick with the name everyone down here in central FLA knows it as MGM I mean my best friend and I are going in a few weeks and everytime we talk about our trip and going to the parks we say "I wanna go to MGM..." Not Disney studios or anything like that stick with the old name for everyones sake...:D

I think it should be called "Behind the Scenes Studios, brought to you by Disney". It sounds very tacky doesn't it? LOL

I think it should be called Walt Disney Studios Florida or Disney - ABC Studios. If ABC were more involved I think we could get some fun shows, restaurants and rides based on hit shows. Soap Opera Bistro at DCA was really fun when it was there. Something to do with Desperate Housewives or Lost would be popular. They could bring in more ESPN stuff too.

I think it should be EPSOT......Experimental Prototype Studios of Tomorrow. Then connect it by monorail to Epcot, and you've basically got one big park with some resorts in the middle. :)

That's where they filmed "The New MMC" (with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russel, ect.).
