Disney is allowing people who had tickets for that night to exchange them for a different night OR use them as a 1 day 1 park ticket within the next 12 months, due to unforeseen circumstances on that night.

Did anyone go on that date? Did the fireworks get canceled?

I believe that due to the mass amount of lightning that night most of the entertainment was canceled. I think they may have gotten off one of the Hocus Pocus shows and that was about it.

Correct. I was there that night.
Nonstop heavy rain and lightning from 6 until just before 10. Most of the party-specific decorations were either taken down as soon as they were put up or never put out at all. During the storm, most outdoor attractions were halted and even things like Philharmagic were shut down in order to turn the buildings into temporary rain and lightning shelters. Fireworks and projection show played as planned, as the rain had stopped, but only the final parade and hocus pocus show were performed.

We did okay but I imagine a lot of guests, especially those with children, had either a very short evening or else a very unpleasant one.

Man I feel sorry for those people. It seems that his hurricane season kick off has brought tons of rain. We were there from the 1-10 this month and that was the most rain we had had in a long time. I think during our 8 day trip this past May that it didn't even sprinkle once. My buddy is down there right now and he has told me that it has rained a lot on this trip for him too. We were at the Halloween Party on the 8th this year and it was fine. Thankfully it has never rained on us at any Halloween Party we've been at. That would just be awful.

Boy, we got lucky. We were there from the 7-13 and the first rain drop we saw happened on the magical express to the airport on the 13th. I was super worried about the rain but we got really REALLY lucky.

My son and I attended the party on the 13th. We managed to do a lot. Rode Splash in pouring rain, which was shut down soon after, trick or treated thru the park 4-1/2 times, saw some fireworks and caught the 2nd parade in it's entirety. We didn't feel it was worth complaining about because of the rain.

My buddy texted me on that day from EPCOT and said it was POURING and there was probably an inch of water on the ground over there. I noticed when it rained really hard on us at the People Mover one night and the water was standing over there really high as well. I wonder if the drain systems in the parks just gets overwhelmed by all of those sudden FL downpours or something? Actually on that night we got tornado warnings sent to our phones while we were walking around the MK.

We arrived on the 6th and it was the only rain we encountered on our trip on the 13th and that was only in the evening at Epcot. We had sun during day at MK where studios and AK saw a few pours during the day. We did the party prior to the flood out and had a very low attendance. So happy we went with that one.
