What exactly is DisneyQuest?

Hi I've been going to Disney for years and when we go to Downtown Disney I always see the DisneyQuest building and wondered what it was. Is it an interactive game room for children? Can someone explain to me what it is and is it worth paying to go in? I'm an 18 year old girl, do you think it's something I could do or I would enjoy?

Thank you! :)

My kids and husband LOVE it ages 10,14,18,19... I am along for the ride so to speak... :) If you have a water park option on your tickets, or if you are an PAP holder it is included. You are right it is 5 stories of interactive games, and video games... would not say "for children" because several of Int. Games you have to be 54 inches to ride. Its about 38.00 to get in but they do offer 1/2 price nights (not advertised). I think you would love it... Its a different side to Disney... :)

Thanks so much for the info! I act like a little kid so I think I'd like it, I love games! Do you think it would be quite full at night?

Oh good to know! For some reason when I saw "interactive" I thought it was like a quest game or something for little kids! Haha! I'll definitely try to go this time around, it'll be something new for me :)

A question for those who have gone.
Do they have regular arcade and pinball games?
And
I've read reviews of the place that say many of the attractions come with an extra charge. True?

YES MY HUBBY LOVES THEM!!!-They have pinball and 80/90s Video games all of the classics.. Pac Man, Asteroids, Tron, Donkey Kong...
Only "Extra Charge" is if you buy the souvenirs from one or two of the games... but we have never seen them point in purchasing those... :)

Well, that's all I need then. I'll probably do that the night I see La Nouba.

We spent a few hours there on our last trip and had a blast. Make sure to try the virtual POTC game and the Buzz Lightyear ride (like a cross between bumpercars and dodgeball). Virtual Space Mountain is a lot of fun too (you design a coaster, then they program it into a ride simulator, and then you ride it). There were tons of things we didn't get to, but the things we did were great.

OMG...I am such a DQ fan! Which is funny, because I really am terrible at most video games!

The POTC game is one of my favorite things in the whole world! (a giant immersive 3D screen, where you fire virtual cannon balls at ships...and dead pirates)
I have good memories from when DQ was briefly in Chicago, and having the whole ship to ourselves...but that won't happen nowadays.

The Buzz Lightyear thing is cool...but it was visions of 8th grade Dodgeball...be sure you get a good partner in the vehicle with you who can actually aim and hit...because I spent so much time spinning in circles, that I got rather sick afterwards.

Also...make sure you don't mind spinning upside down when you design the virtual coaster...my advice is to start small... with only a few corkscrews before you go all out! You can always jump on it again and make improvements the second time around!

Other fun things most people miss...you can make up your own song from a list of prerecorded lyrics, and then change the artist and genre at will.

And there are the old school video games and pinball...which you can lose yourself in for hours alone! (Qbert never used to have a line...but I bet it does now!)
I also really like the Mighty Ducks pinball game/ride...but that's because I know a secret cheat to winning first place! (Pm me if you wanna know what it is!)

The Aladdin virtual carpet game is cool...as is the comic book one (remember to look UP when you swing the sword!)

And while most people find the virtual jungle cruise to be lame(because...well it is) it can also be quite hilarious in a group!

and if I remember correctly... you do get a card with a number of points...but only for "ticket" games, like skiball, where you win something.

I admit it's been a few years since I have been there...and bummed that they made so few upgrades...but it's still an absolute blast when we go!
Bring your competitive spirit!

If I remember...extra charges were for adding points for ticket games, getting a CD made of the song you "created" (I have one from every trip!)
getting a video made of your face while riding the virtual coaster.
There's also the make your own souvenirs, and being able to take home computer art or cartoons you create.

Also...none of that stuff above is cheap...it's all like $19.99 for each thing.

Good to know. For what you said, I have no interest in the extras. Some old school arcade and pinball machines will work fine for me.

Are the pinball machines still there? I was in there for a good 4+ hours a few weeks ago and didn't see any, which was disappointing, but I could have missed them since there were a few corners I didn't go to. I spent most of my time around the DDR/Guitar Hero/air hockey section.

It's a big waste of money! Honestly the only things I found worth doing were the Bumper cars and Cyber Space Mt. other than that I coould have just about the same amount of fun in Pop Century's or Tomorrowlands arcade.
