Does anyone remember Image Works which was upstairs at Journey Into Imagination? I have fond memories of that. Last year I noticed the upstairs was empty. Up until then I had forgotten because I was just a child the last time I had been up there.

It's horrible when Disney takes away these great attractions. Yet, the buildings and all are still there. It's wierd because I can remember the colors and lights. I remember coloring figment in. I also remember a time on Horizons when I pushed the button to end in space or something and it went to the oppisite scene. That really sticks in my head. :p

Why yes, I do remember when Image Works was there... I really enjoyed it!

Unfortunately, it seems that the powers that be are too busy trying to attract new visitors with new attractions to realize that perhaps repeat guests would like to enjoy their old favorites...

go figure.

If you take the Undiscovered Future World tour, you are taken upstairs in the Imagination pavillion and some of the old Image Works things are still up there.

I do appreciate the tip (really!), but then wouldn't I have to pay even more $$ to enjoy things that were previously included in regular ticket pricing?

I can only vaguely remember Image Works :( What things did they have in there that you could do?

Whilst we are all reminiscing, who remembers spaceship earth with the Walter Kronkite voice over? "For eons and eons.." and Tomorrow's child?.

They moved a few of the IW concepts downstairs (though very poorly done).

A few of the now gone elements were-

- A blue screen attraction where young guests could join Dreamfinder on an "adventure".

- Conducting your own orchestra.

- Jumping on different spots on the floor to make music (a different version is now downstairs)

- I think there was a light tunnel where the lights changed colors as you walked...though this might have been another attractions.

I used to love those table with the nails hanging upside down. You could put your hand underneath them and make swirls, etc.

Ahh, it was the little things that kept us amused for minutes!

i remeber image works vaguely, i liked the shadow wall where your shadow freezez, or the musical colored lights, was really neat. I think disney had a fall out in the 90's and is now seeing it's mistake got rid of pressler and is turning things around. don't get me wrong i think pressler is wonderfull at what he dose, merchandiseing, he will do wonders for the gap. but he isn't an entertainer, you can't run disney like the local walmart. now they are fixing there mistakes and don't have the money budgeted to do it. i miss the old stuff but the new stuff is really cool and unique and disney will alwyas have that spark of magic

I remember being able to paint by air onto the big color pages on the wall. There were also ones where you placed the paint brush on the computer and colored. You could conduct music, play with the upside down pins and do some sort of news report with a green screen. The tunnel of changing lights led you to a part where you would step on the floor to hear sounds. I think there was more but that's all I can remember.

Image Works

I remember the Old IW...Everything said already I rememeber..There was also a interactive show that CM's did with guests..a few volunteers, usually kids, would make believe they were in a rock band or some scene, with the background blue screen..And like TV(weather on newscasts)a monitor had the volunteers in the scene..You had to look down infront of you and follow the monitors to react to the screen...But all i remember is that Imageworks was a dark small room with not too many things to do..But it was 1983.

Figment's Coloring Book was always a favorite...that, Dreamfinder's School of Drama, and the Electronic Philharmonic were favorites.

It's closed because Disney doesn't want to pay insurance.

One (extremely) less reason to visit EPCOT.
