What ever happened to the Moana ride that was supposed to go in Animal Kingdom?

I’m sorry I’ve been very lazy around here lately, but if someone can catch me up… Whatever happened to the Moana boat ride that was supposed to go next to the dinosaur theme to Indiana Jones … now it’s just Encanto …I heard rumblings that it was supposed to go into adventure land in the Magic Kingdom, but I have seen or heard anything…Does anyone know anything? Thank you.

The real thing I’m wondering about is that coco flying ride that was supposed to come too.
I heard from someone the plot of land west from Big Thunder can be preserved. I don't know if that's where it was preserved originally or not. I wonder it because with the Desert Land idea out of question or had it followed, it was obviously relocated since maybe the upcoming Cars theme wouldn't flow next to the Coco one or frontierland unless the first concept art was in the ROA location.

Can anyone circle on the map where the expansion pad is for adventure land to squeeze this attraction in?
It would be where Fire Mountain was supposed to be. Basically, you'd go between Pirates and Jungle Cruise to access the area beyond the tracks. Here was the original plan, with Pirates show building and queue center top and Jungle Cruise at the right:

I’d love to get a great coco attraction at WDW but the flying ride seemed like a variation of Soarin / FOP - I’d much rather have a classic dark ride or boat ride and sail through “real” environments .
I said it in another thread but I’d love to see the DCA Coco ride go into DHS (rather than Coco going into MK as a theoretical addition down the road). It looks like type of ride that DHS really needs.

Given that they seem keen on juggling attractions lately, I'd honestly prefer Moana now shift back to Animal Kingdom. If it was still going to be built as originally designed, I'd appreciate more attraction diversity rather than having a second flume so close to TBA and another water ride between Pirates and Jungle Cruise. For me, a more ideal distribution of some of the remaining rumors would be:
  • Moana and the originally announced kakamora spinner (re-purposed TriceraTop) moved back to AK as an Oceania miniland
  • Some of the Coco setpieces from DL repurposed for Three Caballeros down the road when WS hopefully has better attraction density
  • Fire Mountain plot adapted to instead be Agrabah bazaar, with a relocated Magic Carpets spinner and Cave of Wonders simulator

That’s not a problem given how unreliable TBA is
By the time anything could be realized in that plot, the reliability will be higher, whether by actually fixing things, fundamentally altering some things, or having a higher tolerance for more elements being frequently nonfunctional, as with RotR.

They never actually announced a Moana ride. They just showed some blue sky concept of one and the thing they actually announced is happening where that was in AK. So I don’t think it’s going to happen at all tbh.

I believe the insiders on here are saying it’s still a thing.

In the engineering report Disney submitted to the SFWMD, the report notes that Disney plans to develop the basin in the southwest corner of Adventureland (the rumored location of Moana) and this is being taken into account in creating the new regional stormwater facility that is allowing them to build Cars and Villains.

It appears they actually do intend to develop the land “beyond Big Thunder.” The triangle shaped basin in the northwest corner would be ideal for a new resort.

Long-term, I also noticed they are creating a water detention pond at the very bottom of the laydown yard basin. It’s interesting that the pond is located and sized just right so they have enough room to build a bridge over the canal to the rumored Moana attraction. This would initially be used for construction, but long term, they could use the laydown yard area in orange for another significant park expansion and connect it all together so there’s no dead end.
