What ever happened to Surprise in the Sky

My guess is that it was discontinued for safety reasons. It looks like they had fireworks and live performers on hang gliders that could be blown off course. Yes, the fireworks have tinker bell, but she is on a zip line, so no rchance of her being blown off course.

Expensive, traffic congestion, hazardous (Skylidascope had an accident 5 years ealier)

Plus it was only designed for WDWs 20th.

Splashtacular took over in 1993 as a E Ticket show but was also flawed.

What was Skylidascope? Epcot needs another show, somewhere home how. Splashtacular was kind of cool but the music was extremely annoying. Surprise in the Sky was so much better and I wish it was still there. What gets me was why would they put those balloons on the walking areas and not on the roofs. That must have been a big hassle. It seems like no big daytime show has made it past 5 years. The Jamitors and the fountain shows are the only ones I know of that have lasted. Even the Cristos didn't last and that only consisted of 4 workers. Next time there a big daytime show at epcot there should be a pool.
