What else could be announced for Hollywood Studious at D23 Expo event in Japan

How popular is Cars in Japan? They could have been saving the Cars Land DHS announcement just to have something popular in Japanese culture to announce. But I have no clue

Japanese fans prefer Pixar/Lucasfilm/WDS>Marvel/Avatar and there is a high Chance that Tokyo might get StarWars.(Cars,Inside out was a flop in Japan) Starwars in Japan has a huge fanbase and the marketing strategy for the new movie is pretty big. an Airplane wrap,Rice Field Sculpture,Ice Sculptures and many more. and after Fantasyland in Tokyo,the Focus will be in Tommorland and some japanese rumors suggest that OLC might be reviving Sci-fi city.

TDO didn't want Carsland, especially when their one option for fitting it anywhere in the park was tearing out half of Westernland.

If there are any notable announcements for DHS it would likely be a slightly more in depth look at the plans already made or a "were breaking ground right now for Toy Story land!" sort of thing.

World wide box office without China so far puts the film over $750M if I remember right.... this film had phased world wide release...so.... we are still waiting for the total BO.

Man, are we spoiled. We get 2 new lands, and the first thing that gets posted, is what else you got.

I grant you, if the construction does't start soon, but spring, I can see people starting to get very worried about another 7 year project.
There is far more phase 3, cars land, and mosters inc roller coaster talk on these boards than SW and TS lands.

Spoiled? Perhaps. I think it's more that we've heard things happening behind the scenes including a very large budget (3.5 billion). Plus the closed attractions (some that have been closed a year now along with others rumored to be closing soon) leads one to believe there has to be more than 4 rides being built at MGM.

Wasn't there talks about Avatar going to at least one other Disney park? Pandora would make for a great new land at Disney Sea, though I guess it's possible that they are choosing to build Arendelle instead...

I see it more as them playing catch up for over a decade of under investment in quality attractions. Yes people are happy with the 2 new lands, but these phases should have been done 6 years back and we should be ready for even further expansion at this moment.

Such is the desperate state of WDW (relatively speaking, it's still awesome) at the moment that even 2 new lands doesn't come close to fixing the problems. Still waiting for news on Magic Kingdom and Epcots $350million each (all gone very quiet).

I just wonder if Toy Story land is inclusively Phase 1, or are there other projects like a refresh of some of the shows, under the umbrella title of phase 1.
