What does this "stamp" say?

Hey guys, I hope someone here can help. I have some friends that just got back from the world and they found something that looks interesting. They took a pic of this "stamp" on a buliding at the corner of Sunset and Hollywood in DHS. They asked me if I knew what it said and if there was any meaning behind it but I'm clueless. It might just be there for decoration but there might be something to it so I'm just curious if anyone here has any ideas. Thanks in advance for any info

Mortimer is the name that Walt wanted to call his Mouse Character- his wife convinced him to use the name Mickey.

BTW it says "MORTIMER & CO. CONTRACTORS 1928"

Thanks! I just couldn't make out the first word but now that I know what it says it's plain as day....strange how that works! :D Thanks!
