What do you think of Christmas in July Limited Time Magic?

It seems like a Christmas in July Store sale to me. Where I live, there actually is stores in the past that did Christmas in July sale commercials.

I am calling the Christmas in July Limited Time magic that because Christmas Decorations, and holiday cups are things that you make money off. This is only one of Disney's ideas on how to get customers buy more stuff.

"Christmas in July" is a fun idea, but poorly executed if they only offer extra merchandise. When you have to buy something it's not really Limited Time Magic for guests, but rather Limited Time Extra Profit for the park.

There is so much more they could have done with this theme. As I wrote in another thread I think they should set up a Christmas-themed photo op where guests can take a family photo for their Christmas card this year. They can even have the Photopass sent to your home as Christmas cards if they have to make money with it, which would be some free promotion when guests send these cards to family and friends.

I have people tell me every day that I just took their Christmas card photo, though I do understand what you're saying. You can order holiday cards on the website too, there's borders and all that fun stuff.

They should have did a poll for Long Lost Reindeer Friends and everyone could vote which ones they wanted to meet. Then take three reeindeers from the MVMCP parade and say hey everybody you get to M&G Dancer, Cupid, and Blitzen.

I like the idea of "Limited Time Magic". But the problem is that each of these is announced on short notice. Most if not all people plan their trips out 180 days or more from date of arrival. LTM becomes a "yeah, well, whatever" for when they are there. The trip is already planned. There is no draw.

Who wants to bet that Disney is going to try and pass off MNSSHP and MVMCP at Limited Time Magic events. I would laugh at their laziness.
