Since it seems we all have different opinions about this subject, it is time to vote on it. Simply choose Yes if you like the Comcast take over idea, or No if you do not. If you want to respond with your vote, only use one sentence (we have already beaten the topic to death elsewhere). Your sentence should just cover your biggest reason for your vote.

Well, unfortunetly i cant post the PDF file of Comcasts proposal, its too big. However I have it (Thanks Grizz) and i'll be happy to forward it to anyone.

To be short, its a pipe dream. The financial projections contained in their presentation are reminiscant of the dot bomb era - That of perpetual returns or perpetual growth, both completely unrealistic. They seem to be best case scenerios done by marketing execs with the math skills of 4th graders.

In short, theyre projecting (unrealistically) a 3rd year revenue of 800-1.2 billion based on new growth from unpredictible segments, etc. Very little had to do with the parks. If you actually put some faith into Comcast's numbers, really, you need to get your head out of the clouds.

If you'd like the PDF file, just ask. I'd be more than happy to share it, its actually great comedy in how unrealistic it is.

Personally I don`t think it could be any worse then if Disney stays the way it is with Eisner at the helm, specially with Eisner closing the Animation department and pixar saying bye bye to Eisner I see nothing but bad things for Disney in the future without doing something about Eisner. Now if they would oust Eisner I would say heck with Comcast! but with The decisions that Eisner has been making lately , I say Comcast can do no worse.

Well, this is a double edged sword. The good thing is it would (possibly) get ride of Eisner, which is the goal alot of us around here have. However, there's something about Disney no longer being Disney that bothers me. I couldn't imagine the Disney company w/o Roy, but things are hopefully going to go 'our' way, you know who we are, with that situation. As for the sale, I wouldn't like to see this happen and I'm hoping Eisner's rejection of private talks is the benchmark for his position on this topic. Maybe he's going to do the right thing this time?

I`m sure Comcast would keep the Disney name and like I said in another thread Disney is no longer disney anyway, the last of the Disney`s resigned so Disney is just a company name like any other company.

I voted NO! I think its time for Eisner to move on, but I don't want Disney to be absorbed by another company. I can't imagine a world without Disney. :( (Comcast/Disney...Vivendi/Universal ? )

But, how much of the increase was due to:

1. Comcast news
2. Earnings report (came early to deflect the Comcast news)
3. The possibility of new management.

IMHO, the Walt Disney Company should remain independent, a merger with Comcast will make both companies too big and end up following the same road AOL/Time Warner went down (that and the fact that it further dilutes the Disney name). So NO.

Exactly...lets see how they do down the road. (though I happy about yesterday's upswing. :D )

I don't think it's likely. The offer was too weak. Disney stock will have to slip significantly in the coming months and/or Comcast will have to increase the offer for it to happen.

The most likely scenario I see at the moment is that this move wakes up investors to the weakness in current management. After yesterday, I'm more certain than I've ever been that management will change in the relatively short term.

This is really a nightmare! I don't trust those Comcast B@$+@rds!

They talk a good game, but I think they are full of it. I also want to thank Roy and Stan for selling us out. Their failure to denounce this merger (and seemingly acceptance of it) shows where their true interest lies....their own bottom line. I am sure Walt would be please with his nephew. :fork:

I think it is a good thing. The current board (now mius Roy and Party) is more interested in playing media mogul than in caring about the parks or the animation. I think Comcast has a much better appreciation of those two aspects of the business.

If it does go though, I believe Comcast should become extinct, and Comcast and it's entities should fall under "The Walt Disney Company".
