When I used that service to send our daughter a gift for her birthday, the present was put in the room while she was gone. If that delivery model is still in place, the couple didn't technically "take it". It would have been put in their room.

It's possible resort management found out it was given to the wrong couple when the couple turned it back in. There is nothing here to lead me to believe the wrong people kept the gift.

I'm happy that it all worked out in the end, although not on the right date.

We have used the Disney Florist three times. 1 time was absolutely awesome. 2 times the delivery was sufficiently late as to negate any surprise that was hoped for the occasions. One of those times we needs to call when the whole day went by without our delivery. No one in hotel management or at the florist wanted to take ownership of the situation. It was basically "oh well sorry we didn't live up to our end of the bargain. Thanks for your money". It will be quite sometime, if ever, before I would consider using them again. I am glad that everything worked out for you. It makes a huge difference when someone takes ownership and strives to make things right.

Oh no, that's terrible! I'm glad they were able to get the gift to your parents eventually, and it's great that they added some extras on to make up for things.

I've used Disney Florist twice. Both times we thought the items would be in the room when we checked in, but both times it didn't arrive until later on. We were told that they won't leave things in the room prior to check in due to the fact that people's rooms are changed frequently when they check in. Sometimes free upgrades are given, sometimes people make last minute requests, etc. So I don't believe it's typical to have it waiting in the room at check in. But regardless, giving it to the wrong couple is not okay.

Did you have a card saying it was from you? Maybe the couple was also celebrating & just thought they got really lucky! They'll probably go home raving about how Disney was really welcoming. If not - than yeah, it would have been incredibly rude of them to keep something they knew was for somebody else.

Ok, I'm sorry. My bad. I thought the gift was to be in the room at check in. If someone at the front desk hands me a $500 dollar gift at check-in that I'm not expecting, I would look long and hard as to whether it really is for me.

After 28 hours, it's unlikely the first couple had any inclination to bring it back. I'm glad you got it straightened out. I'm sure you handled the whole situation more diplomatically that I may have.

Hopefully, Disney Florist or the resort management had some way to track down who did get the gift and deal with them appropriately. I don't believe that just because someone delivers a package to you by mistake, that does not give you a legal right to keep it once the error is discovered.

What a lovely surprise you planned for them, such a shame you had all the upset, but at least it was sorted eventually. Not the service I would expect from Disney. HOWEVER how could the people who accepted the original gift in full knowledge that it was not for them possibly live with themselves? I admit on being given something like that I would be delighted, thinking it was my lucky day, then after about 20 seconds I would feel so guilty there would be no pleasure in it all.

I'm glad there was a happy ending, you must be a very special daughter :)

I'm truly sorry you went through all that to give your mom such a heartfelt gift. I'm glad though that at the end all worked out. I hope she truly loved it.

We had a similar experience, we ordered my daughter Taylor a personalized christmas stocking for when we checked in, we checkin head to the room and my sister in law goes ahead to make sure it's there. Low and behold it's there but it says Cameron on the stocking not Taylor! It took them 4 days to get the right one delivered to us!

That happened to me and my boyfriend (now fiancee) over the summer. We went in July and he asked me to marry him in Magic Kingdom and had paid out the wazzoo to have Disney put roses and the like in our room as well as a princess tiara and other things for me when we got back from him asking me to marry him. All we got that night was a signed picture of Mickey and Minnie that said congrats on your engagement and a discount off photopass. I was excited. I mean Mickey and Minnies autograph :p but that was before i knew i was supposed to get pixie dusted roses ;D

This is correct - things cannot be left in a room prior to checkin since things can change so quickly. Sometimes items are given at the front desk, other times they are delivered to the room after checkin. If alcohol is involved, like a bottle of champagne or wine etc - they won't leave it in the room unless someone is there to show proof of age.
