what do I do if we miss our limo grocery stop?

If our plane is 1/2 hour late (I believe), we will not get our grocery stop. Is there a way of getting groceries delivered? We won't have our lap top with us to order from garden grocers. We will need some stuff within 24 hours of arrival. I know we can go to the onsight stores to get some things, but I would like a couple cases of water, as one of us has a medical need.
We won't have a rental while we're there.
Any ideas or help?:veryconfu

I don't know of any grocery or pharmacy delivery stores that cater to WDW. You might have to grab a cab and head to Super Wal-Mart off 192 (open 24 hours)

Just hope your flight is on time! :)

Call me, I'll pick you up! Can I make a home based business on this?

Seriously, get a cab to the Wal-Mart on 27, it's about ten minutes from Animal Kingdom. Wave towards the apartments across the street, and I'll wave back at you. There is also a Gooding's at Crossroads, near Downtown Disney, but Gooding's is pricey. There is also a Publix on 192 just before the end at 27, but their prices are usually a bit higher than Wal-Mart.

If you opt for a cab, take the Disney buses to Animal Kingdom Lodge, then go to their entrance and ask one of the porters for a cab to Wal-Mart or Publix. Or, take the buses to Downtown Disney and get a ride to Gooding's.

There's also a publix right next to Orange Lake, and there's a Walgreen's Pharmacy across the road from OL - if you take a cab it's not far at all from WDW, especially if you go via Sherberth Road. I don't know how the prices compare with Walmart, but we have always used it when in WDW.

Mail yourself a package ahead of time with non-perishable items. This way if you miss the stop you at least have some things.

I was just going to suggest that. Back in '93 we stayed in the treehouses. (they had kitchens and we had a 2 year old) Disney told us there would be no problem for us to mail a package. So we did. And it was sitting on our kitchen table in the treehouse when we walked in.
I don't know where your staying, but I would definately check with Disney to see if it's possible for your location.

What limo company are you using? We have used Quick Silver and yourride and they both asked for our flight information because they monitor your flight, checking it's status, and know if you will be late. Neither of them had a problem with a delayed flight, the driver was at the bottom of the escalator waiting for us when we arrived.

We mailed ourselves some diapers and formula. The were in our room the day (Sunday) after we checked in. We asked the day before (Saturday) and they said it wasn't there, no clue what happened

But if you want cases of water, that is too heavy to ship, you will need the shopping trip.

I agree - any reputable limo company should ask for your flight info ahead of time and since you obviously can't control whether your flight is late or not, there shouldn't be a problem. They know this, it happens all the time.

I just wanted to inform everyone that becoming a Staples Rewards member no longer entitles you to free shipping on any order. A lot of people were ordering the 24-bottle cases of water and having them delivered to WDW for free. The new Rewards program (which sucks) makes you have to have a $50 minimum order to get free shipping. Another reason why Staples sucks. I used to work there, hah.

We got Happy Limo - which is reputable according to Mousesavers. In their contract it says if your plane is 1/2 hour late, our grocery stop is eliminated. I'm sure they still monitor our plane though. hmmm. I may have to ask more questions.

That jsut doesn't seem right. If you are paying for it, they should stop. The end. You have no effect on when the plane leaves and lands and you should not be penalized for that.

If you are staying on property, why not save the money and use DME? Isn't it still free? Then, use the money you save on the limo company to go to Wal-Mart on your own time and it doesn't matter how late your flight is.

I absolutely agree!

Also, if you miss your limo stop that night, can you not pack a few items in your checked luggage that you would need until you could get to the grocery? That may be enough if you miss the limo stop to get you through until you can make it to a grocery store.

I have used Happy Limo for the past five years. The always check flight info and when I was late there was no problem with us still getting our town car and our Grocery stop in (we like Publix)

We stop at a grocery store everytime we go because we stay in a villa that has an operating kitchen so having some food in the room is great for us.

There are many grocery delievry services that will deliver to you on-property. I haven't used any myself, but it does come up often on the disboards

Do a search disboards.com that site is much more travel oriented then most of the other fan sites.
