What Disney Parks are missing...

I have been a fan of all things Disney for my entire adult life. However, for the last few years I have sensed a general decline in the quality of the show in the parks, particularly in Florida.

The linked article really sums it up quite well. I think Disney no longer practices the "Intense Brand Protection" it once mastered.

Thoughts?

If you think its bad in Orlando (which I actually disagree with) you wanna visit Disneyland Resort Paris. I have seen such a decline in the standards over there - its quite upsetting to see.

I rank the French park as the prettiest of the bunch when it first opened. The castle is excellent but the rest of the park could do with a lick of paint.

Me!

But that will be corrected [albeit temporarily] in about 50-ish days!

The Parks/Experiences are providing all that I'm looking for. Other than providing for every whim (which is nye on impossible), what a great job they consistantly do.

I have to agree with the OP. Lately, I've kinda felt that Disney has slacked on Brand Protection. It's almost as if their getting cocky or they no longer feel threatened by other theme parks. I remember a time when Disney was WAY above the rest, but still strived for nothing short of perfection. They're still above the rest, but not very far. It's definitely not perfection - not by a long shot.

I agree. But I expect that to change with what Univiseral is attempting to accomplish. If the rumors hold true, Disney will have to respond. Like Disney did with MGM when they learned Universal was coming to their back yard.
