What's your nutrition like?

Today was 3 bagels and half a pot of coffee pre-run.

Yesterday was 2 1/2 bagels, half pot of coffee and water pre-run...and last half of bagel and 32oz water post run.

If I have time before the run in the morning (as in 2 hours), Ill eat a bagel and banana. Cup of coffee.

If it is a wake up stretch and out the door it is usually a GU packet. :hurl: Im going to try the stinger's BTW. They seel them at the local Academy.

If it is after work, Ill eat a banana around 3.

I like race day. I get up about 3 hours from race time, sit, eat some food, cup of coffee and read some light material online and then get dressed and head to the race. Im one of those that gets places WAY too early. I just have anxiety issues with being late.

I'm the same way. If the race starts at 8am, I'm outta bed, dressed and ready to eat at 4am *paces back and forth at the the foot of the bed waiting for wife to wake up*

It carries over to business and personal life too. Im 20 minutes early for meetings and meeting friends for lunch or something. I guess if you had to pick an OCD to have, this might be a good one.

Wow, I thought I was the only one like this. I'm ALWAYS early, I hate to be late. I also hate waiting for others. Why does it seem that no one out there tries to be on time? I'm trying to teach my teenage son to be early too.

Back on topic,

I try to get atleast one pasta meal in at 36 hours before the race. On race day I'll have a banana and a bagel with Polaner All Fruit. Then a Gel 15 minutes before the start.

The only problem with punctuality is that there is no one there to appreciate it...I hate lateness.

Another 2 1/2 bagels and 1/3 pot of coffee. And no gels...I ran out.

I dont have but 1 guy friend that is punctual. The others will (or should I say use to be, I dont hang out with them anymore) up to 30 minutes late and once they got there, they would act like nothing was wrong. It was like, my time wasn't considered nor valuable.

That's why I refrain from having "friends." :D Can't trust anyone but yourself!

I always eat the same thing before a race. 2 Clif Bars 20 minutes before the start.
I think before my long run this weekend I might have a clif bar. Once I get into the 9, 10, 11+ weekends, Ill probably hit a clif bar and the Pre-game stage 1 from gatorade to see how those combo in the system. I have taken the Pre-game a few times before and had no problems. I just dont know how the 2 would mesh together. :lookaroun

My long runs (saturdays, 22-26mi) I usually have 3 bagels and coffee pre-run, a gel on the run, and powerade and an apple post-run. It seems to work for me. I don't feel any fatigue or lack of energy. I just have to be sure to run within 2 hours of me eating.

I have done two clif bars and half a 20 oz gatorade before long runs and they gave me no problems at all.
