What deluxe resort to stay at?

The last two trips we stayed at The Wilderness Lodge. My wife wants to try a different resort. So what resort should we stay at? The Grand Floridian is not an option. Looks to much like my grandmas house. Thanks everyone

We've stayed at most of the Deluxe, and when it comes to Epcot resorts, a few thoughts:

BC: If you enjoy spending time on the balcony (one of major perks for a Deluxe, to us), some of the "balconies" are too small to sit on. All you can do is open the door and look out. Also, I've heard that the distance from the BC to the YC/BC boat dock is the same distance and from the BC to Epcot, so there's no effort saved taking the boat
YC: of the two (YC/BC), this is our fave. Some call it stuffy; we call it classy :)
BW: Our favorite. You can walk to Epcot, Studios, or (for dining options) to the YC/BC, or S&D. We just love the fun atmosphere and excellent service. Good balconies, too.
One thing on any of these is the lack of a decent food court, if that's something that would influence you. Actually, there really is none. There's some quick pick up or grab and go, but not much else

The GF is absolutely gorgeous, but a bit too sterile for a "Disney experience", at least for me. I've stayed in one of the best rooms in the Contemporary, a suite on the 14th floor overlooking MK -just something special about the GC Concourse passing through the A-frame. After just returning from YC, I must say the accommodations are very nice, in addition to access of course to the best pool on property by far. Poly however, just has it all and seems to embody a Disney vacation, IMO. Unparalleled location and views on the Lagoon, monorail, water taxi's, dinner show, and a totally immersive theme.

Wow this is tough. It might be nice to stay near Epcot just to change things up. Does Disney provide bus transportation the the Swan and Dolphin? Ok so its Yacht Club or Boardwalk. Those are the front runners. With one should it be?

My .02: as much as I loved the pool/atmosphere of the Beach Club, and the fact that I could arrive to the International Gateway in about the same amount of distance as walking from the front of Epcot, I didn’t enjoy Epcot as much that trip - and I realized afterward that I had messed up my experience. It’s kind of like sneaking into MK and missing the Main Street/Castle entry - it just didn’t feel the same.

Sometime I’ll ty it again, but for now, that impression still sticks with me.

Poly if you’re looking to stay near MK like you have. It’ll be even more convenient than WL. I would look into the Epcot area resorts though. We love both the Beach Club and Boardwalk. Can’t go wrong with either.

Yes I thought about that. My family's tradition is to do Magic Kingdom first, then according to dinner reservations, that would dictate what park we would spend most of the day/night in, usually. This next trip is all about Star Wars Land. I've been a Star Wars fan since I was 5, so this will take priority. But the sentimental me is saying "this won't feel right." I guess it's not a real problem, just an examination of my conscience. Either way it's going to be awesome. Master Yoda always said " let go of fear. Fear is a path to the dark side."

I love all the deluxe resorts I have stayed at. POLY probably my absolute favorite followed by BC.
Love GF for the stores and the lobby and the kid pool.
Love POLY because the rooms are huge and the Volcanoe pool is awesome. Love the vibe, the sushi bar, the dole whip window. Ohana's is everybody in my family favorite dinner meal.
BC/YC are probably best EPCOT resorts IMO. Love the solarium on BC side and the chocolate croissants for breakfast. Stormalong Bay best pool on property. Sandpiper Club best kids club. These resorts scream LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.
Love BW theme and the service from the staff at this resort has never failed to be what you really want from Disney. Love the diabolical clown pool. Pizza window is the daily spot for my bunch. I have sat in the lobby of BW and worked on my laptop or read a book literally for hours. Use to love the press pot for breakfast at Trattoria al Forno, but last year they turned this into another character dining venue for breakfast which is also a plus when you are traveling with the youngsters.
Swan/Dolphin good pricing and of course EPCOT location, access to resort buses and boats to parks, great pool, free water and coffee in room...
AKL beautiful lobby and puts you in the unpark bubble. Best food at a resort on property from Jiko, to Sanaa, to Boma down to the qs at Mara. Great shade for lounging in the heat of summer around the pool but the slide is super wimpy if you are over 6 years old.
Haven't stayed at the WL since before the remodel started but loved it too.
SSR I really love this DVC property. Love the location to Disney Springs. Great pools. Yes it's huge but I never feel like it takes forever to get somewhere on property. Good restaurants. Serene landscaping. Buses some of fastest in all of WDW.
The toughest part of planning a trip to WDW for me is selecting my resort..

Disney's Contemporary Resort!!! Huge rooms, closest to MK and can't get better access to the Monorail. If you can do it definitely go for the theme park view room (AMAZING VIEWS) and even better still Atrium Club Level! You'll be pampered and treated like royalty. All this without the old fashion, stuffy and snobbery attitudes often found at the Grand.
