What can you take into the park?

I'm sure I can this answered on the disney website, but I'm lazy, have a slow connection, and know you guys can tell me :drevil:. I may want to take a back pack to carry a few items such as flip flops and an extra t-shirt for my wife who likes splash mountain but does not want to get wet. Is this ok? I'm assuming what is not allowed is rather logical ie drugs, weapons, and food not purchased at the park. What about water bottles? Anything else I should be aware of? And do you carry around back packs at the parks ever, and if so is it helpful or an annoyance.

Forbidden items that come to mind...guns, knives, illegal drugs, alcohol, glass bottles, and hard sided coolers.

Pretty much everything else including outside food, drinks, etc is allowed.

I have carried a backpack many times. It can be cumbersome, but I find it to be a handy item in which to carry all of my stuff. Disney allows just about everything outside of weapons, explosives, and alcohol. The search at the park entrances only takes a few minutes.

Also no straws are allowed inside animal kingdom.

I think it's an annoyance - speaking as someone who has been smacked in the face by big backpacks attached to tall people who are paying no attention to where they are swinging that thing. But if you want to take some clothes and water in no security guard will object.

They do not allow glass bottles in either.

Last summer we saw a family of 8 sit down in Epcot and break out lunch..they had everything, paper plates, napkins, mustard, mayo, bread, chips, cookies, lunchmeat..you name it, they hauled it into the park. To me, no amount of money saved would be worth the hassle of hauling that stuff around, or paying to store it in lockers.

I do generally carry a small pack for necessary items...my oldest daughter suffers from acid reflux and if I don't take her med. w/us everywhere..pretty soon she would be miserable. I just keep it in a ziploc baggie, inside the pack. Plus it works out well to hold the autograph books, pen, camera and hand sanitizer.
