Hi all,
We will be leaving for WDW in 8 days!!! :sohappy: Can't wait! I'm working on my packing list and wanted to know if you're allowed to take drinks and snacks into the parks for the little ones? Can you actually take a small cooler of drinks for them?

Thanks!

No glass bottles, no alcohol. I've seen people with soft-sided coolers before that they store in their lockers. ($7 with $2 key deposit returned at the end of the night.) But sure, bring beverages, snacks, sandwiches - whatever you want. A lot of people do to one degree or another.

Last year at MK I saw someone bring a cooler with wheels, it took him a while to get past security and the gate due to whatever was in there. I have always brought in frozen water bottles to help keep me cool.

Some frozen bottles would be my suggestion, if possible. A couple of at the bottom of a backpack or bag, wrapped in a towel. They come in handy later in the day, especially as we are starting to get highs in the low 90s....

As long as you don't take enough into the park to start selling to other guests you'll be ok - take in only for your own personal consumption

I brought some of my son's favorite snacks (teddy grahams, crackers, fruit snacks) every day with me. I also filled his sippie cups each morning at the hotel so that he had some juice during the day. I am lucky that my son likes water when his hot so if I bought a water I poured some in his cup or I'd fill it at a water fountain.

I was never stopped at a security checkpoint. Be aware that when taking a diaper bag or backpack they did want me to open each compartment.

I would take a small backpack and put a few bottles of water and some munchies ....... I never got into trouble from security....

so go ahead...and have a magical trip....:)

  ...i cant wait for july

I took so much stuff in. My daughter has a wheelchair and I had a rolling backpack on the back of it. We had several bottles of water (with the Crystal Light or Walmart brand flavor packs to put in the water), capri suns, cans of soda, larger water sport bottles with Kool Aid that I had made up in the room, PB&J sandwiches in Tupperware containers, snacks galor. Anything I needed for the kids since they seem to be the picky eaters and never eat it all when you have to buy it. We would even throw in apples and other stuff like that from the hotel. Other than some novelty type stuff, I don't think I really bought the kids more than a couple of meals inside the parks. The bottles of water (with the Lemonade flavor packs and Kool Aid) were the most useful. We really went trough them and saved a lot of money on drinks. We did not use a locker because we had the wheelchair and a stroller, but that is a very good idea. Have fun!!

I have always brought along snacks for my son. Yes, they inspect your backpack at the entrance, no, they don't mind.

Apples, bananas, Teddy grahams, Goldfish, fruit snacks, and frozen juice boxes and water. I made sure everything was packaged in individual sizes instead of hauling around a big box of crackers!

It works well for my parents too, who are diabetic. They need to eat every few hours, and even something like peanut butter crackers counts.

I usually head down that aisle in the grocery store that has prepacked crackers and cookies and stock up. I use one suitcase and pack it with food and then on the way home I have room for all the stuff we buy!

The bag checkers are VERY strict about the no glass thing. I saw a woman have to give up three bottles of baby food before they would let her go in DAK. That surprised me a little. I was NOT surprised the time a man in front of me had to give up his six-pack of beer in glass bottles at MK. :D

Usually, I bring a Camelback full of water (2L bladder) and extra packs of Gatorade mix, along with energy bars, sunscreen and first aid ( duct tape for blisters, bandages, etc). Never had a problem a the gate, and like magicalmemories, I mix my own drinks with the local water. Makes it tolerable.

One of the funnier things I've ever seen happened a couple of years ago. While going into Disney/MGM, I saw a couple of twenty-something guys sitting on the ground next to the security bag check with an open diaper bag chock full of beer bottles. They looked like they had just been grounded. How dumb do you have to be?

A short little question, not so much about food, but about other things, electronics, just normal junk, is there anything like that that you cannot bring into the parks?

Weapons. I would imagine if you normally carry a pocket knife or such, it would be confiscated.

People frequently bring cell phones, mp3 players, cameras and camcorders into the park, so I don't see an issue with electronics in general. There may be specific things they wouldn't permit, but I believe most standard consumer electronics would be acceptable. (Don't bring a laptop for sniffing or hacking wireless networks for example.)
