what brings you that Disney nostalgia?

The fun thing about these boards is that you have people from all over and of all ages sharing a love for the same thing, Disney! So I thought it would be fun to share a piece of what makes me nostalgic for my childhood spent at Disney and maybe you guys could share your own? Pictures, music, videos, stories, whatever it is!

Mine is the borderline propaganda played in the Disney hotel room TV's, most notably being "Must Do Disney with Stacey" There's been a ton of iterations of this played throughout the years, but I remember having this channel with it's 20 minute loop on for hours in our hotel room at night before going to bed.

It drove my parents nuts. But for me, despite it's obnoxious host, it screams being in Disney. I love it, totally transports me.

What're yours?!

So many things!
I love looking back at my childhood photo albums and also ones I've made as an adult and seeing what the World was like at different points.
One of my favorite things to do is look at old park maps, documentation from old trips like resort receipts, old souvineer books, and old souvineers. That brings me to a super nostalgic place.

The music probably brings the strongest sense of nostalgia for me. I also love looking at old maps... finding the quieter routes (or, what used to be quieter at least!), spots that are no longer there (RIP Rose Garden).

Music is a complete drug for me, but even simpler things like the sound of the train chugging along the track, feeling just the right amount of breeze as the sun sets and finally begins to cool, and smelling that Florida morning air as I step out of the room every morning...those moments make me ache for Disney!

I've never been particularly attached to EPCOT, but listening to area music makes my heart yearn to go back.

Also, the song they used to play when they "turned the radio on" on Kilimanjaro Safaris, it really makes me smile :inlove:

You're tugging at my heartstrings!!
You are right. There is something truly beautiful about that experience of stepping out into the sun and dewy grass of a Florida morning, heading to a Disney park. Sometimes here at home if the sky and air are similar to that, I'll step out in the morning and kind of close my eyes and just breathe it in because it reminds me of being there and smile. But nothing compares to that moment!

I do the same! It's like a momentary transport, or a small piece of home.

Disney Channel (When it was good) use to highlight things about the theme parks...

Innoventions Tom Morrow 2.0's Imagineer That..

DATELINE: Walt Disney World where they would have news about the parks and what was coming..This one is by far the most interesting as it mentions attractions that NEVER Happened..

Walt Disney Imagineering snippets between shows..

And of course...Walt Disney World: Inside Out....

For me, it's hearing the music from the Little Mermaid that is at the beginning of the Electrical Water Pageant. Makes me remember when I took my girlfriend to WDW for the very first time and she was on the balcony of our room at the GF overlooking the lagoon talking on the phone with her mom. When that music started and the lights turned on she had tears in her eyes and was telling her mom how amazing it was there. 21 years and two children later I still get goosebumps when we hear that and she always holds my hand and gives me a kiss whenever the pageant starts.:)

You can relive it all over again...

Literally All. The. Things. I've been going there so long, so many times and seen so much change, that it's truly hard to pin it on just a few things. But strongly nostalgic they are. A feeling, I suspect, a lot of us here share.

Old parks music, especially from Epcot gets me every time. I still listen to it repeatedly leading up to a trip. "Tomorrow's Child", the music from Horizons, "Magic Journeys", "Kitchen Kabaret" - I love it all!
