What attractions do you like despite disliking the movie?

In response to some of the Avatar shock and the people who think it is a bad idea because they don't like Avatar, I had a thought... What attractions based on a movie do you enjoy even though you have either no connection to the movie, or you actually don't like the movie.

I'll start with the obvious one...

Splash Mountain.... comparatively few people have seen song of the south. Many consider the movie to actually be offensive... yet the ride based on it is one of the most beloved rides in the MK.

Now your turn.. .discuss.

I haven't really seen any of the movies that the rides are based off of. That being said, I did like Haunted Mansion(I know it was made way after the rides). I realize that it's no Citizen Kane, but it was entertaining.

Mr. Toads Wild Ride.....

Even if it has Monty Python actors in it...It's like the other 178 hours of the series that's not funny or memorable...

I'm usually pretty open-minded to Disney movies... I do, however, do the reverse - I love Lilo & Stitch and Aladdin, while disliking SGE and Magic Carpets.

Swiss Family movie is a bore. Love the attraction.

Splash Mountain too. Song of the South is a pain to watch.

This, so very much.

I'm the opposite when it comes to Swiss Family Robinson, I really enjoy the film but find the treehouse attraction to be extremely boring.

I'm not a fan of Winne the Pooh but I like the dark ride.

I'm not a fan of Snow White but I like the dark ride and I'm looking forward to the mine coaster.

I really like Splash Mountan but I've never seen nor do I have any desire to see Song of the South.

Star Tours is great but I'm not a big Star Wars guy either.

Indiana Jones at DL is fantastic but I'm not big into the movies.

Love Splash Mountain and have used it as an opportunity to find a few copies of Song of the South (from the UK) and have given them to a few of my friends and family. The movie, although a little dated, greatly explains the Splash Mountain ride. Found nothing offensive in it and those that do would find offense in everything. Wish it was released in a restored version.
The cartoon segments are fantastic teaching pieces. Uncle Remus brings morals to all who listen.

This is not the thread for it, but it is no offensive than Tom Sawyer, but his movies, his story and his Island is o.k.

So I am right, people can have a functional love for a ride while having either a dislike or a indifferent feeling for the property that the ride is based on. Remember this when complaining about the Avatar land idea. I have heard many people who have no interest in Harry Potter, but really like what they have done with the "land".

Yeap, seen the movie, love the ride as well. The things found "offensive" in it shake my faith in humanity because it really is a good movie made by a good man in 1946. Outside of "When You Wish Upon a Star" is there any more famous Disney song than "Zip-a-dee-do-da" in Song of the South?

Put it this way, people complain that a Disney movie doesn't delve into the issue of slavery in the movie (why would it?) but a movie like Avatar where the plot is based on an American who is all for destroying a bunch of blue freaks until he literally gets laid by one of the girls all of the sudden is more family friendly? I am looking forward to Avatar, but honestly, if you want to call the moral police then why is this movie acceptable then?

Haven't been on SFRT in 10+ years. Why would I? People complain about the Aladdin spinner (where they can ride with their kids) but love the Treehouse, where you have to carry your kids? I suppose I enjoyed it as a kid, but man, if ever there was something that could be swapped out .. *ducks* (btw, I have kids and they don't want to see the treehouse -- I guess I'll need to convince them to see it at some point .. lol)

Anyway, back on topic .. Pearl Harbor was a dud of a movie and Backlot is .. hang on, bad example

I love Haunted Mansion, but I prefer to pretend that the Eddie Murphy travesty never existed. Just Sayin.

Really though, I love Peter Pan, but Peter Pan's Flight is kinda boring to me.
