What are you must do rides?

Instead of going through the park commando style trying to make sure I hit every single ride, I am trying to make sure to slow down this time, and take time just to enjoy it instead of trying to "conquer it". So, out of all the rides at the Magic Kingdom, I asked my wife which ones she considered "musts", then I named the ones that I considered "musts". I will list them here, although I won't bother stating which ones are mine, which ones are hers and which ones we both thought. I'll just name all the ones that fell on either her list or mine.

1) WDW Railroad
2) Space Mountain
3) Carosel of Progress
4) TTA
5) Teacups
6) Philharmagic
7) Small World
8) Peter Pan
9) Haunted Mansion (but only because we want to see the new one...neither one of us are overly thrilled with that ride otherwise)
10) Cinderella's Carosel
11) Mark Twain Riverboat
12) Splash Mountain
13) Thunder Mountain
14) Pirates of the Caribbean
15) Jungle Cruise

Between the two half days we have planned there in April, it should be no problem to do all these rides. Any other rides we may do if we feel like it at the time, but these are the ones that we want to do for sure. Now, if only I can stick with it and not go back to commando mode.

What rides would be on YOUR list? Any park, not just the Magic Kingdom.

I don't bother doing a list for the other three parks because none of them have nearly as many rides as the Magic Kingdom, and the number of rides/attractions at each other park that I don't care to do is far smaller than the ones that I really want to do. So there may be a few at each park that I won't bother with, but I'll do all the others and still get done in plenty of time.

Railroad
Carousel of Progress
TTA
Philharmagic
Small World
Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion (through I think I'm outgrowing it)
Splash Mountain
Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise

(Just for the record: The Mark Twain Riverboat is actually at Disneyland and Disneyland Paris; the Liberty Belle is at the Magic Kingdom.)

I used to do Space Mountain all the time, but I can't take the turbulence anymore! Then again, I sat in the back last time I went.

The American Adventure
Soarin'
Reflections of China
Spaceship Earth
Universe of Energy
Test Track
Living with the Land

Hollywood Tower Hotel
The Great Movie Ride

Expedition Everest
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur
Festival of the Lion King

I guess none of these are really must-dos, but they're things I would always like to see and that I would prioritize over other rides. Sadly, I feel like I'm outgrowing a lot of attractions. :(

When I came here on vacation I'd go into full blow commando mode, visiting every attraction I could with the exception of some of the shows that didn't interest me at all. Since moving here though I don't do that at all anymore. I basically walk around and whatever I feel like doing or whatever has a short line is what I'll jump on.

my trip is not complete unless I ride

1. Tower of Terror
2. Haunted Mansion
3. SpaceShip Earth

just those 3 rides out of all of the rides at Disney. My trip isn't complete without them. Those 3 rides are my absolute favorite rides (in no particular order as they all 3 share the top spot) :D

We just came back from WDW on December 27th. Although we knew we wouldn't get on EVERY ride we are used to, we did do three parks in one day and I can say I was fairly pleased at what we were able to accomplish:

Spaceship Earth
Universe of Energy
Sorin'
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Mission: Space

Tower of Terror
RnR
Great Movie Ride
Star Tours
Osborne Lights

Space Mountain
CoP
TTA
Haunted Mansion
Pirates

It might sound odd, but I really don't have any absolute must-do's. There are some that I enjoy more than others, but I'm always so happy just to be there, so whatever we do, we do. DH is the same way - so that works for us.

Absolute MUST dos for the whole vacation:

Splash
TTA
Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion
WDW Railroad
Jungle Cruise
Spaceship Earth
Universe of Energy (I know, I still love it though.)
MuppetVision 3D
ToT
RNR
Everest
Shopping
And I HAVE to see Wishes and IllumiNations. I don't really care for Fantasmic.

Other than that, I like to sort of wander and do what I feel like at that moment. Which usually involves people watching or taking in the scenery.

We recently returned from the World on 12/27. Since we were there over Christmas, we weren't sure if the crowd levels would allow us to hit all the attractions we're accustomed to doing during a slower time. DH and I agreed that, at bare minimum, we HAD to ride:

MK:

PotC and HM for us

BTMRR for us and DD

Peter Pan, IASW, Winnie the Pooh, and Cinderella's Carousel for the kids

Epcot:

Soarin and Test Track for us

Nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush, and *gulp* Journey to Imagination for the kids

DHS:

ToT for DH
RnRC for me
Great Movie Ride for us both

Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Muppets for the kids

AK:

KS for us
EE for DH

Nothing "must see" at AK for the kids (yet)

Luckily, by getting to the parks at opening and using fastpass wisely, we got to ride all of the above (several times each) and much, much more!! :sohappy:
