So my AP expired last month and I was thinking of reasons I may (POTC's 50th, New ROA etc.) or may not (TOT being destroyed and the ride formerly known as TOT being down for 6 months) want to "renew." I was curious as to what you are all anticipating the most. I have a hunch the new ROA etc. will be the overwhelming favorite, but who knows.

As of right now, the only thing I'm looking forward to is the return of the DLRR. Nothing's been announced for Fantasmic!, nor the PotC 50th anniversary, so I can't say I'm excited for those just yet.

well in order to keep more people flowing into the parks disney has to do something different (big) every once in awhile

I don't believe this is necessarily true. People like to say this when talking about why DL does HMH and WDW doesn't. "Disneyland has to keep things fresh for the locals to keep coming." Ha! That's a load of crock. Disneyland's guests will come, regardless, due to nostalgia alone. We haven't had an E-ticket in over 20 years. HMH is most definitely not fresh, it's almost, if not already, 15 years old. There were crowds before the 60th offerings and there will continue to be crowds, even though the celebration is over. Disneyland is like to drug for a lot of people. Add in nostalgia, another powerful drug, and you've got a recipe for busy days and nights at the little park Walt Disney built in Anaheim, CA.

I voted for the return of the DL Railroad, and the new features rumored to be coming with the new track layout.
I've been missing the train rides this year when I have visited the Park.
It will be good to have that kinetic flow happening again.

Now, if we can just get the PeopleMover tracks occupied again.....

I'm also looking forward to what the new version of 'Fantasmic' will consist of.
Hopefully not yet another 'Disney film clip fest' similar to 'World of Color' and what 'Forever' was in my opinion.
I'm hoping for something a little more creative, with some neat surprises and effects involving actual set peices and performers.

I'm kind of excited to see what merch they release for POTC's 50th. I wasn't into DL during the parks 50th but it seems like their was much better merch than the 60th.

I don't think they NEED to. The same way they don't NEED to celebrate Halloween and Christmas in the parks. Guests will continue to come in droves either way. There is no denying though, that the overlays and seasonal changes spike up merch sales and drive attendance. Especially in a local heavy park. It's just a reflection of our society/ culture. HMH is to DL what a Pumpkin Spice latte is to Starbucks.

Definitely, the overlays attract guests. That can't be denied, but as you said, Disney doesn't need them.

They "need" them if they want to continue driving attendance and guest spending through the roof the way they've been over the past 20 years or so, which I assume is one of their business objectives.

I voted for Hyperspace Mountain. So cool. I know regulars are probably ready for the original, but Hyperspace is just awesome. I'm coming in early January, so a lot of stuff coming next year won't be there when I'm there.

I guess for me personally, I'm just looking forward to coming back. I've got a really exciting trip planned. It's a celebration of my college graduation. I'm bringing my long-time friend who I've known since we were in diapers. We went to WDW a few years ago together, and now we're doing DL.

I'll look forward to coming back in the future and seeing the new addition to the train, an upgraded Fantasmic, and other additions.
