What are willing to pay for FastPass+?

FP+ will provide up-to-the-minute costs to obtain a FP for any given attraction, based on the current wait time.

Haunted Mansion current wait is 30 min. Or skip the line for only $3.42 per person!

Space Mountain current wait is 90 min. Or jump ahead for only $8.86 per person!

Frozen M&G current wait is 210 min. Or meet them now for only $22.49 per person!

I'm going to say I would be willing to pay. However only if I truly feel it gets me on more attractions and I deem it to be worth it. We usually go during the "slower" times of the year, but I would honestly like to see this done in a limited capacity for anyone willing to do it. That being said, it would have to truly be a benefit over the existing system. We did Harambe nights last year, and that was a complete waste. Premium seating was a joke, so Disney would have to really improve on the existing system. I would rather put money towards something that improves my over all experience and not buy another shirt or piece of plastic from a store.

I like this idea. Give everyone the 3 free and then let the extras be priced by demand. Some days and some rides, I might be willing to pay the extra; other days and rides, no way. It would all depend on my mood and patience level at the moment.

I would rather pay to have kids who don't know to cough in their elbow, climb anything in sight, scream and whine removed from the standby line. Along with their parents who have some how conditioned themselves to be completely unaware of how their child acts. This feature I would pay for.

Let's face it, the time is coming (probably sooner than later) that Disney will start charging for FP+ given the need to satisfy the shareholders, who are becoming increasingly greedy. What are you willing to pay for each POS transaction? Personally, I will not pay for FP+ under any condition. Disney did not spend over a $1B for a system if there was not a plan to recoup the cost plus interest. We're paying some of the cost now with increased ticket prices, but that is just a drop in the bucket. There's a goldmine embedded in every RFID MagicBand/Card especially when a credit card will have to be linked to said band or card. Disney hopes to strike it rich over and over. Hi, ho, . . . .!

1. No. Disney will NEVER charge folks for FP+ just as the NEVER charged folks for the original FastPass system.

2. While you're right in saying they "did not spend over $1B for a system if there was not a plan to recoup the cost plus interest", they intend to recoup that cost by attracting more people to the parks with MyMagic+ as a whole. Your magic band isn't only a fastpass device...it also is your resort room key, your PhotoPass ID, your ADR tracker, etc.
Disney's goal is to streamline the vacation process.

3. You are wrong in calling the new ticket prices a "drop in the bucket". $6 extra per head sounds like peanuts...until you remember that the Magic Kingdom is the most visited theme park in the ENTIRE WORLD, drawing in over 17 Million visitors annually.

They still have yet to earn me back as a guest, let alone someone who would pay extra for something that should be free with admission. (And also reverted to the old system, just paperless.)
I agree. I stopped going 2 years ago when I stopped renewing my AP (after 8 years). I saw a decline in the value of the park experience and the food went from mediocre to awful while the prices kept going up. I have yet to read about anything that WDW has done to entice me back. Maybe in a few years, I'll try again.

I pay extra just by paying my admission fee. Someone correct me, but I believe UNI's onsite guests get Express Pass (is that it?) for free. All others pay extra. I don't believe that would work in WDW as there are way too many onsite guests. You are also creating a have vs have nots because there is a group of people who stay in the bubble as opposed to those who don't. I guess you could also say there is a class system in place as there is the group who can afford to go to WDW and those who are priced out of the market.

I hope Disney don't read this forum, there's no hope for anyone if they start getting any ideas!

Oh, I'm sure they do. We're also hoping that they haven't read the thread about the other thread that's out there where some of Disney's guests that are members of this forum have said they would pay 2-3x more to go than what it already costs if it means that they get an emptier park for them to be in.

Think for yourselfer
Willing to pay? I guess it depends on the efficiency of the system. I have never gone to Six Flags without buying the flash pass. It's a little pricey, but worth it to me. If WDW implemented a similar system, and it was similarly underused, I would be willing to pay for it as well. Entry is $100, say an extra $30 for express pass, I'd do that.

Now, a different question is, would I prefer that type of system? I think a lot of you are amswering this question and not the OPs question. And I agree, he'll no I don't want to pay extra for FP. I like the old system, and the new one, as flawed as it is, still beats paying extra.

I liked the old system where everyone just waited and wait times seemed to adjust themselves.

You realize you just slandered all Disney shareholders.

FYI, I am a long time WDIP member and AP. Greed is good, as I was told many years ago. Why else would you gamble with your hard earned money if you didn't expect to reap the benefits of this great capitalistic economy? After all, the WDC is in business to make money and lots of it, as are all the other Fortune 500 companies.

It's the industry trend and would more likely help with the operational headaches of FastPass+.

1. No. Disney will NEVER charge folks for FP+ just as the NEVER charged folks for the original FastPass system.

Disney promised increased revenue directly attributable to MyMagic+ but has repeatedly been able to answer invest questions regarding how or when. Increased attendance does not count as part of that.

When the bands first rolled out, I thought that they would eventually charge, but that's not going to happen.

What we might see off site guests getting 3, Value resort guests get 4, Moderate gets 5 and luxury get 6. I can see something like that happening, but because of where they are at with the bands now, they will never charge for fast pass.
