What are reasonable wait times for a 3 minute ride?

Never past 30 minutes for me. If something is more than that I skip it and come back. We had a fastpass for Pirates later in the day but when I walked past it earlier I noticed it was "only" 25 minutes. So we waited and it was probably no more than 20. Then we fast passed it later. That is a ride worth it to ride twice, even with a 20-25 minute wait. I know that the wait times are usually the worst case scenario, but I can't justify waiting 60 minutes in line.

you ask a lot of questions! I would say I'm usually happy to wait 30 mins. If my friends and I are in a good mood I could wait much longer.

However, lines need to exist. Theme parks need people to be queuing to manage crowds. Waiting for an attraction is reasonable and if you attend during peak times you should know the lines will correlate with crowd levels. Disney offer great interactive lines (Mansion, FoP, PPF, Space Mountain, Everest) and that should be recognised

Looking at the wait times this week and felling so sorry for folks waiting 200 minutes and not realizing the ride is only 3 minutes long. What's reasonable ? How can Disney solve this problem? Is there a way to make the wait time match the experience? The fast pass system just doesn't completely work to balance this out. Which rides are worth the extended wait times.
There are no rides worth over a 45 minute to one hour wait. It is best to find value in something else. Disney offers so many other experiences that putting the success of a trip on one or two rides is counterproductive.

Typically we will not wait more than 30-45 minutes unless it is a ride we have not tried yet. If it is something new we will make our decision when we are there.

The longest I have ever waited was 70 minutes. That was on the pre-remodeled Soarin. They only reason why I waited that long was because when I entered the queue the time read 20 minutes. Any that have been on it in WDW knows that by the time you get to even the middle of that queue you have already invested a lot of walking in it. A lot like Indy in DLR. So since it looked like it might get me on the ride soon, I waited a while longer. The longer I stood in line the more time I had invested in it so I stayed way longer then I ever would have had I known it was going to take that long. 20 to 30 minutes is normally my limit as someone stated before, it really depends on my desire to ride the attraction. Since I go so often I tend to not invest a lot of time waiting. I just come back later or catch it next time. Actually you will find yourself in that situation a lot at WDW, so if you want to see anything you may be standing in line a lot longer then you feel it should take.

We have not been to the World since 2013...do EMH's still help with reduced ride queues or are they just as bad with packed resorts loading the parks even during Magic Hours? I know we had EMH's at MK until 1AM one night and walked on SM like 5 times.

Depends on the ride, how tired I am at that point in the day, and if I've never ridden the ride before. But, it's all mostly solved if you just do some planning and get out of bed. We went during the busy time of Thanksgiving week last year. We were at the parks before rope drop, had our FP+, and we had a plan. Even with crowd levels at 9 and 10 I think the longest we actually stood in line for anything all week was 45 minutes.
I'm hoping we can manage to do the same thing in the days before Xmas this year. Arrive before rope-drop and smart use of FP+ to get in a bunch of rides each day.

To me, it's all about moving. I'll wait 45 minutes if I'm moving and the queue is interesting enough. If I'm standing still, shifting my weight from one foot to another, I'm only going to tolerate that 15 minutes.
