I have seen a few posts over the past few months discussing best resturants but no one (other than me) has posted V and A's. It was one of the best dining experiences I ever had anywhere, practically a full night. Yes its pricey, but the food with the wine pairing was totally amazing and I have never went back and not ate there again. A definite 5 star, anyone else have an opinion.

Not many of us are fortunate (let alone willing) to spend a lot of money at V&A. We, in particular, wouldn't mind going, but having to pack proper attire just for the occasion wasn't worth it to us (our suitcases get full quite easily. Don't want to mess up a good pair of shoes/pants/jacket/etc..) I do give it credit for what they do. Everything looks great. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Did you by chance get the Chef's table?

i have had 3 meals there, 3 wedding anniverserys each one better then the last, enough, cannot be said about this place, we have recommended it to friends and they were blown away, for the price the ellegance service and food, is worth every penny, the only sad part is jim griffin the head of a&v has moved up to california grill. a&v is worth at least one time, you will go back.

Chef's Table

We had the chef's table on our honeymoon in July 2002. I must say, it was the most amazing meal. We ate for over 3 hours and had a 9 course (I think) meal that included many things that I would never have ordered on my own. I understand the monetary issue, but it's is well worth EVERY penny you pay, even if you save and only go there once in your life. If I remember, I'll post our menus later....

This Restaurant has been given rave reviews by everyone who dines there.

My wife and I have never been there simply because we don't like to dress up while on vacation and a suit and jacket is required. It's hot enough in Florida for me w/o having to wear a monkey suit while eating.
We are also not wine drinkers so we wouldn't appreciate the fine wines that are available there.

They say that if you like fine dining and great restaurant atmosphere this is one place that can't be beat. :sohappy:

This is someplace I would love to try but I never will. The same reason as others have mentioned, the dress code. It is the only place on WDW property that has one and I just be bothered bringing a jacket on vacation, let alonge long pants.

I would love to try it, but unless they change that rule I won't ever get there.

I LOVED V&A's! :) We went there on our honeymoon in 2001 and would beg, borrow and steal to be able to return and eat there again. It was absolutely amazing. Worth every penny. We loved getting dressed up and feeling like king and queen there all night. It was wonderful. I whole-heartedly recommend it. A true once in a lifetime experience for those who relish the finer things in life. :)

It's awesome. You'll love it! It's not italian though. It's gourment "whatever is in season". You don't find spaghetti anywhere on the menu. Make reservations in advance! The place only seats 60 and fills up fast!
I'm from California and an avid wine drinker. I'll let you know thier wine pairings are AMAZING. It's not often you get a glass of hundred year old chianti! In 2001, they opened an 1880 bottle of it for me. :)

Simply the Best

V&A's comes up in conversation every once and a while. I always mention it when someone tries to present California Grill as " the place".

Never say never...and there are other restaurants on property that require jackets.

Can't do anything about the jacket part, but V&A's does have an offering without wine pairing, so you would not be wasting money. They also have different offerings of wine pairings for the even more discriminating.

For an idea of cost and menu, from AllEarsNet:

We will be there for our 25th Anniversary in October, can't wait!

You are right never is strong word and I should not use it. What other restaurants require a jacket, I thought it was the only one.

I know it is tough if you go with an entire family, but if you ever are able to leave the kids (lol), this is the place you want to go. I say endulge yourself while you are on vacation, and if its a special occasion then chances are you will dress up for it occasionally.

From AllEarsNet:
For the ultimate adult meal, though, don't miss the Grand Floridian's Victoria and Albert's, the only place on Disney property where formal dress is required.

You are right that that is on Deb's site, and on the Disney site, there is also no mention, but when I just called for preferred for the the Flying Fish I was told jacket required. I had also heard that they are trying to implement that for California Grill. I may be wrong...it's happend before and will probably happen again

While on the subject of V and A's, I have a question. My nana and popa (grandma and grandfather) are going to Walt Disney World next February (I think, or January) for their 50th anniversary!! So, for their last night, I suggested the Chef's Table at V and A's. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? My nana said she is willing to pay for it, and if anyone has done it, can you let me know how it was? Any help would be appreciated! :D

Could be special

From the standpoint of feeling special, it is a wonderful place. Your menu's are personalized for you and your event. There are other personalized touches. There are very few places I've ever been that I've felt so pampered. Now for the food, and specifically for the Chef's Table. If your grandparents really enjoy food, and cooking, it can be a great event. While some offerings are very exotic, there are choices on every course that should agree with most palates (except if you are straight meat and potatoe's).

Now, with that said, I would never take my parents there, regardless of the cost. My mom would be intimidated by the presentation, would be intimidated by the food, and couldn't deal with knowing the cost, even though she didn't pay. She has a hard time with a la carte restaurants at home.

So you know them best, hopefully this can help in your decision.

An alternative thought is that a number of other premium restaurants will make for a special anniversary meal if you let them know in advance. We like Artist Point at WL , Flying Fish at Boardwalk, and Jiko at AKL.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Hi, I just wanted to make a suggestion. I have a friend whos sister was going to disney for her 25 wedding anniversay with her husband. My friend gave her a gift certificate to V and A's. They loved it! So my suggestion would be maybe you and your family could all do the same for your grandparents. It would considerably lower the price if a punch of people pitched in, and it makes a great gift! Just an idea, I hope your grandparents have a wonderful time at DW!!!!!!!!!
