Wet"N"Wild- I am still confused

Well liked by who? It may not be as fancy as some of the other water parks in the area, but it's plenty popular.

Let's be blunt, it has a reputation as the "ghetto" water park in Orlando. Various fights over the years--one involved a couple dozen kids--have not helped that. And the cut-rate discounts they offer don't help its image, either; not sure it would be as popular if it charge Aquatica or Blizzard Beach prices.

I think Universal not only has to ditch the name, but realistically needs to relocate any new water park, to avoid the stigma of being thought of as "the new Wet n Wild."

I don't think there will be much confusion between WnW and the new water park. The surrounding complex and transportation system should be a big clue that things have changed.

I'm hoping they at least use some of the current park's infrastructure and maybe even keep its name, for historical reasons if nothing else. It's been an I-Drive landmark since the 70's and is one of the original water parks. Actually the very first according to many sources.

I can say with 99.99% certainty that Universal will not be keeping the Wet 'n' Wild brand when they open their own water park. The only similarity between the two will be that they involve water.

And quite possibly share a few attractions. (Don't be surprised to see Disco or Brain Wash at the new park...even if in a new form!)

While reusing some infrastructure makes logical sense, everything we've been hearing from insiders seems to point to a complete gutting of the park. That said, Universal has a history of repurposing old structures in clever ways like when they saved sections of The Lost Continent's kitchens and bathrooms during the construction of the Three Broomsticks.
