Does anyone know what Disney's policy is on moving the date of your booked vacation?

When I called to change dates, they cancelled the old room and booked a new one. I just had a room, not a package. I got a new reservation number and that was that! Pretty painless. 
Lucky for me, the same kind of room was available in the same hotel on the new dates AND it didn't cost me more to switch.

What do you have a room only or package? I only book a room reservation and I've had to make changes whether it be moving back the trip or canceling a day. I've done it about a week out and no issues. Room only reservations can be changed with only a 5 day notice. I just did it Saturday for trip this Friday. I had to cancel Tuesday. Wife has a work conflict. I run my own business so I can do as I please. Sometimes. Packages require about 45 day notice for changes.

If you have a package and are outside of 45 days you can move your reservation without any problem save for availability and any promotions you have. The same is true for a room only up to 5 days out.
If you are inside of the cancellation periods, they might charge you a change fee, but those are typically waived especially if the price goes up on your package or room only.

I had to push our vacation back several months, a quick 10 minute phone call yesterday and all was well. The CM on the phone even told me to keep checking the website for other special offers and discounts and if I find any for my days, to call back and change the reservation again! As long as u aren't with the 45 day period you will not be chArged. I believe if u are in the 45 days you will be charged $50 to make said change.
