Dear Merry Rose,

May I ask, how did you like the Keys part of the vacation?

I am trying to plan our next trip and am thinking I need to include some ocean/beach time into our next vacation if we go again in the summer (that's when I like to spend our vacation $$$) but it is SO HOT!

I was thinking a possible cruise (sounds expensive), Miami or the Keys.....would you recommend it?

That was awesome that your family won so many YOAMD....even little things are magical!

Thanks, Andrea

Daytona is right around the corner (meaning like 90 mins away). Though I don't like the fact that cars are allowed to drive on the beach there, there is plenty and plenty to do in Daytona. When we used to take our annual trip out to the beach, we would stay in the town just north of Daytona called Ormond-by-the-Sea, FL. It's virtually the same town, The Adams Mark is the Northern most hotel of Daytona and our resort was about 1/4 mile north of that. The only reason we stayed at Ormond Beach was to avoid the car traffic on the beach. The resort was called Coral Sands Inn. They have regular rooms, rooms with kitchenettes, suites, and also seaside cottages that have 2 bedrooms. We've stayed there about a dozen times. I don't have the # but I'm sure you could find it on google!!!

Congrats! We were on our honeymoon a couple weeks ago and won the YOAMD Ears in Epcot and we also got free drinks! We were really excited we had finally won something! A great way to end our honeymoon!

Dear Ask

The keys are beautiful. You know how the orlando area is a bit swampy, snakey, alligatory? The keys are not like that - it's ocean and islands. We stayed in Marathon/Grassy key in a house on the ocean. It was beautiful. Yes, all the keys are Coral Reef Islands, so beeches are scarce, however, we spent the day at Sombrero beach in Marathon and it was gorgeous.
The keys are a slower pace and some places appear run down due to past hurricanes. It doesn't feel disneyish. But once you get used the the slow place of the islands it's like home. dolphinvacations.com has a house we rented in Marathon. Key West is quite the party place and a lot of fun. Islamorada is gorgeous. You could have a blast down there for sure!

Devoy and Merry Rose,

Thanks for the info...still in the very early planning stages but will look into both suggestions.

Thanks,
Andrea
