Have any of you been on the Disney cruise? i went to Disney for the first time 3 weeks ago and i am already itching to go back. people told me now that i am starting to travel to mix it up and go somplace else, so i was thinking of doing the Eastern Carribbean Disney cruise.

What is the best time to go on a cruise? Is the disney cruise as good of a time that i heard it to be?

I've never done a Disney Cruise but DH and I have done 2 cruises and we went in September and October and it sure was hot.

I've done 4 Disney cruises and loved everyone of them. We usually sail the end of October which is the end of hurricaine season.

I went in Sept 03 and you definately have to be a "cruise person." I like Disney because there's just 18 million different things to do at any time and the cruises are entertaining, but it is limited of course. They tell you went to eat, where, etc.. I like doing my own thing. And I am not a beach person, so that wasn't fun. Overall it was okay, but wouldn't do it again.

A Disney Cruise is strongly recommended. How long are you looking into to? I've been twice (two 7days - 1 eastern, 1 western), including one this past summer.

They are great! Food is awesome. Plenty of entertainment - you'll never get bored.

I'd do it if I were you. Have you ever been on a cruise before?

you should look into Princess if you don't like the set dining of other cruise lines. They have personal choice dining where you just show up like you would at a restaraunt or you can make reservations for a specific time.

the set dining does not bother me.

i was looking to do the 7 night eastern carribean in september. that seems like the cheapest time to go.

Being a long time fan of WDW I had to go there on my honeymoon when my wife left it up to me. To make it special though I also added on a 4 day Disney Cruise (my first cruise ever). I absolutely loved it! People often think that it will be overrun with kids and that there is nothing for adults to do. That is not true at all...in fact there was stuff I wanted to do but didn't have time for.

For my one year anniversary we decided to go on a Royal Caribbean Cruise (Trying to keep the cost low). It was not as fun/nice as Disney's cruise by a long shot. It made me realize that Disney put a lot of thought into countering the very things most uninformed people would tend to think about their cruise. Disney makes sure that kids have their place and plenty of reasons to want to be there so they wouldn't be running around the ship all of the time. Disney also realized that the parents would need something to do, because hey its their vacation too. Couple these things with all of the family centric activities and you have a great package. Royal Caribbean just couldn't compete.

Oh and Disney's Castaway Cay is awesome! My wife and I couldn't get everything done that we wanted to while on the Island. Since you leave at 5pm (mosquitoes come out at 6pm we were told) it wouldn't be bad to end up on that island twice on one trip I think.

So welcome to the Disney loving club and have a great cruise!

In my family, the Disney cruise line is considered "the" premier Disney experience. While WDW is a must every year, the cruise line is something we absolutely believe Disney shines at. Not only are you surrounded by the magic and wonder of Disney (pun intended) basically 24/7, with the exception of the few hours you spend on shore at the ports of call, but the overall experience is simply phenomonal. If you love WDW, you will have an absolute blast on the cruise line.

You will notice that a Disney cruise is pricier than many other cruise lines. You must be careful when comparing though because, for instance, a Carnival ship is not equal to a Disney ship. While there are ships out there that are grander and more elegant than the Disney Magic and Wonder (particularly the newer Princess ships which I had the opportunity to sail on a few years ago), everyone in my family believes there is nothing that comes close to what the Disney Cruise line offers in entertainment, particularly for our family. That "Disney Difference" that Disney talks about in their marketing materials all too often is absolutely evident on the cruise ships and they really do stand out among what other cruise lines offer nowadays imo.

Of the 7 day Carribean cruises Disney offers, the Western Caribbean is my personal favorite because I believe the ports of call are better than those on the Eastern. If you are planning a cruise for this summer, the Disney Magic will be in the Mediterranean and during the summer of 2008, the ship will be on the west coast for a yet to be announced itinerary. It sounds like it will be a Mexican Riviera cruise once again, but the actual itinerary should be provided later this month.

Just booked my Disney cruise for November. It will be our 5th Disney cruise. You will have a great time. Remember to book as early as you can to get the early booking discount, Because they they do not drop the price as the date gets closer as they run close to full every cruise. We have gone with only 2 people and with a group of 17. we have had a great time everytime.
