Look, I m going to mention every thing I think is related to the projects, and related projects such as the Eastern Gateway. A lot of it is political, and I am trying to walk a fine line explain both sides of the issue and how it might affect them, without get to the point of "Vote for Snoopy", who would get my vote every time ;)

Of course, if you are not interested, then you don't have to read it.

But we have the Disney projects, and while I came here about the Eastern Gateway and parking and traffic issues, it also has an impact on the parks, especially DCA and maybe enlarge the size of the guest area of the park. And also the 4th Disney Hotel on the plate.

And then we have a LOT of non-Disney Hotel news lately,as many companies are taking advantage of the promise of additional investment by Disney (and the city in the Convention Center) to take advantage of building new properties while land is available, and financing isn't too expensive.

And now the issues of the Platinum Triangle, new development, the possibility of the Angels moving, or staying put if the city can make a deal.

And the elections and city council make up has a large impact on those decisions....

So I will post, it is up to you if you want to read them or not....

OK, today's Front page of the OC Register feature article is dealing with PAC, Disney and the Anaheim city election. Also discusses the city of Irvine.

Very detailed and has an interesting flow chart graphic....

That's quite a graphic. They should have talked a web design student into doing an extra-credit project to make it interactive. (Hover over any of the entities and have the finding pathway light up. Click on an entity for more information on who they really are, or what they try to do.)

Well, in the next 24 hours (hopefully) we will know the shape of the new Anaheim City Council.

Last night, my beautiful, wonderful wife and I went to early voting at the Anaheim City Hall, it was a 2 hour wait, so a lot of folks are interested in the elections.

So will Disney's $1 million be money well spent.... I will post what the new council will look like and where they will lean towards when I find out.

Let me add, no matter where you live and/or stand on the issues, make sure to vote today.

Thank you x 1 million. It is impossible to over emphasize the importance of VOTING! I don't care if you are my polar opposite on the issues or candidates--VOTE!!! Democracy only works if people vote. I'll go toe-to-toe with you on the issues and battle it out. If I can't persuade you, then that's my problem. But...wait for it...VOTE!

And hell yeah, I still have my Vote For Snoopy button somewhere in storage. Here's a tidbit--the original CM cafeteria under NO Sq was called The Pit Stop (generally referred to as "The Pit") and it had a racing theme with a menu board sculpted by Rolly Crump. The largest wall had a mural of Snoopy and Mickey drag racing and the round thermostat was the center of one of the wheels.

Now vote you bloomin' cockroachers! VOTE!!!!!

Here is your chance to have Disney actually do something you want for a change. Go vote for who to put in the Hall of Presidents!

So many jokes...

Does Disney have a latex colored "Spray tan" skin?

Will the new president be able to stumble and stand at the same time?

Just had a thought, can Disney even feature a President Trump AA?

Since all his work on The Celebrity Apprentice was for NBC/Universal/Comcast, and most of his seasons had a week featuring Universal Studios Orlando, do we run into the same issues as the Marvel Contract with Universal?

Off-topic, should be fun to watch the new "Arnold" version of the Apprentice, and see if they go to a Universal Studio theme park. My best source tells me yes, wait, was it a dream I was working the event a few months ago..... Oh well, dang NDA's....;)

Based on the mail-in votes just released, looks like Disney got all 4 Councilpersons they want and we will have a "pro-business" council.

Of course, while it is a decent amount of votes, plenty still left to count.

Just an aside comment, if the results stay the same, Mayor Tait is pretty much a lame duck Mayor with 2 years to serve, and will be in the minority quite a bit.

Should be some interesting City Council meetings....

Quick update, 3 of the 4 councilpersons Disney spent money on are clearly in the lead. District 1 is too close to call.

But all Disney and pro-business groups needed was 3.

Morning update, District 1 is still too close to call, but the other three look solid.

Due to Veteran's Day, mail-in ballots have until Monday to arrive at the registrar if they were postmarked by Tuesday, so we have a few days left to wait, but as pointed out , Disney has 4 votes out of the 7 now, so a majority that might get stronger.

Well, here is a surprise, now 1 of the 3 seats that looked safe on Election night.....

>>
JOSE F. MORENO 4,370 35.7%
JORDAN BRANDMAN 4,370 35.7%
ROBERT R. NELSON 1,835 15.0%
JENNIFER RIVERA 909 7.4%
LINDA LOBATOS 770 6.3%<<

So we have a true tie, but not all the ballots are counted yet. (Info from OCVote.com as from the last vote count, 5 PM on November 18th)

If it ends up being to close is it an automatic recount?

Interesting question, as this might come into play in multiple races in Orange County, some for a California State office.

As far as I can find out, there is no automatic recount, any candidate (or proposition person) and request a recount no matter what, BUT they have to pay for it. So it is usually the lower amount item that opts to pay for it.

A government agency can ask for a recount, but also must pay for it.

So a tie would result in flip of a coin or drawing lots (same thing)..

OK, here is an news article I highly recommend in regards to the new pro-labor make-up of the council and how it will impact the city and the Disneyland Resort Area....

http://voiceofoc.org/2016/12/anaheims-new-majority-eager-to-set-a-different-course/

>> The new council will likely try to roll back some of the decisions of the previous council, including a 45-year moratorium on gate taxes for Disneyland and the city’s hotel building incentive program.

The incentive program, which allows developers of four-diamond luxury hotels to keep 70 percent of the hotel bed tax revenue that they collect for 20 years, has spawned subsidy deals worth more than $500 million in rebated tax revenue.<<
