Not that we get them over here, but can you explain what this pin thing is again.?So this will be our 5th year of going to WDW and our 7th trip. I moved our trip from October 4-12 to September due to the possibility of no free dining. Well, my wife just called me and said we had received a pin in the mail. Ah well, maybe next time......

Ok.So this promo is like a room discount I take it..?A PIN is a promotion sent to an individual and not available to anyone other than the person it is sent to. It is called a PIN code due to the Personal Identification Number assigned to the person it is sent to.

It can be anything from a room discount, free dining, you name it.
Is there anything special that needs to be done to be on the mailing list for a PIN? I know its completely random and luck of the draw but as long as we have gone to WDW in the past and we are on their mailing list we are good to go, right?
No one really knows for sure what triggers a PIN or what data base they pull from, but here are a few suggestions that seem to help.
1. Make sure you have an account with all of your correct contact info on the official Disney site.
2. If you have a future trip in mind, quote it online, save it to your account, but do not book it.
3. Order a travel planing DVD.
4. Do steps 1-3 for every adult in the house.
I can say that I order maps and a planning DVD every time that option is available to me. I also "plan" trips on there frequently just to price check. This is our first PIN after 6 trips in 5 years.

I say move your reservations back to October if possible then!
