Well, at least this one wasn't in costume.

That story is ridiculous...we all know that reservation agents cannot arrange discounted rooms for someone without them having a pin. Honestly, the reporting is just terrible.

The real question is how did he get in the room.

And how did he know what room she was in? I don't believe that information is in the reservation computers nor do the Reservations CMs have access to that, especially not at the time of booking the reservation. I don't think that information is available until the reservation hits the resort's computer. So how did someone in the call center (which is in Tampa) show up at the resort and get into this lady's room?

I guess he invented a transporter and tried every room until he found her.

Just playing devils advocate but she could have just called in to book at rack rate and he "hooked her up" with what ever GP promotion was running at the time. However, considering that he knew where her room was he might have checked her in with a CM discount, put himself on the reservation, and had a room key.

Exactly. Something isn't adding up - the article says he "befriended" her - so did she invite him to the room? Seems like there is a big chunk of the story that's missing. It's like someone said: hey - it's negative publicity for WDW so let's just run with the story without all the information...:lookaroun.

I know he must have added something to the reservation. I was triyng to add a little humor around here (the forum has had a bit of tension lately) by straying away from the true point of the story and making it about something more Disney related.

If he added himself to the reservation that's really creepy.

What I want to know is how she 'woke up to him fondling her'. The reporting makes it sound like she awoke naturally and then noticed, "Oh my gosh! He's fondling me!" Like she didn't feel it in her sleep.

I found another Article Explaining it more and now it makes sense.

Detectives say 31-year-old Wilbert Brookins offered the victim a deal on her Disney vacation and booked her into the Caribbean Beach Resort (see map) using his employee ID. The victim told investigators Brookins also helped get her and her kids into the park for free.
However, the victim told detectives, after a day at the parks, Brookins returned with her to her room. The woman told detectives she fell asleep and woke up to Brookins raping her.
The victim said Brookins also stole her debit card and some cash before he left her room.

Wow, what a good mom. Settin' a good example there for her kids about strangers. She's actually pretty lucky he wasn't a killer then...

I'm totally flabergasted - she met him over the phone, used his employee ID to get a room discount and free admission to the parks for her and her family, spent the day with him, invited him back to the room, and fell asleep while he was in the room with them? Is it just that I'm from NY or does everyone else see that this had trouble written all over it? I would think that as a tourist, parent, person, whatever, you have a responsibility to yourself and your family to avoid circumstances that are potentially threatening.

I hope she doesn't expect much compensation from Disney. She did already receive a discounted room and free admission. There isn't much else they can do... :drevil:

 Well, that's worse than the original report. :(
