Turn your phone sideways to see it.
Thanks for the tip but landscape mode doesn't fix it for me.

Are you sure you're in a thread that has unread posts? Because it shows up for me in landscape mode just as it always has. Thanks for the tip but landscape mode doesn't fix it for me.
One minor thing I found is brightness settings, are there other themes, something of a more subdued brightness like it had before ? This is just a little too bright for me unless I am missing something somewhere
Also saw mention of a iOS app, perhaps one for Android ? {I currently have Android 4.0.4, almost everything is Android 4.0.1 or newer} If you do make an App for Android devices, I will gladly aid in testing!
No native Android app is planned. But we have extensively tested the website offerings on all flavors of Android, so you should be getting a good WDWMAGIC experience through your web browser.
Too hard to read. Don't like it at all. Letters are too close together and too bright. yuck.
That's a lot of width to use for one browser. We stop at 1200px, which gives a lot of screen space to the site, and leaves you plenty of space to do something else on screen. The layout just doesn't look good stretching beyond 1200px.
I appreciate all the hard work it took to redesign the site and REALLY appreciate you explaining the reason (making it consistent across platforms). I realize I'm going against the grain here, but I really don't like it. It looks similar to what ESPN did to their site, which I now hate. I generally hate using my phone unless I absolutely have to for several reason including that I hate mobile sites. It makes sense given your reason for changing that the redesign would look more like a mobile site. Maybe I'll get used to, but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.
The issue is this - I'm looking at real time visitor stats right now, and there are 54% of users on mobile, and 46% on desktop. As a web developer, mobile can no longer be ignored or put on the back burner. It is now primary, and has to be given as much attention as desktops. Sites that do not do this will die.
I like the new front page, and most of the style changes in the Forum are ok. The one problem I have is that there isn't as much contrast between the font on the read and un-read threads as there used to be.

Also, didn't I read or hear that Google may start dinging sites that don't offer mobile-friendly versions? Similar to how they'll be dinging sites that aren't SSL?
I need to do thisThis is not a thumbing of my nose to wdwmagic... but rather just offering options. I know UI is a very difficult topic, especially to address across many different views... but as a tool for anyone who just wants things to look the way THEY want. Think of it as your 'selfish' path Rather than harp on Steve, or suffer in your own frustrations, you can customize your own personal view -- without any consequence to the site or others.. as long as you accept you will be creating views wdwmagic has not tested. So don't complain to him if things don't line up
There are browser plugins that can be used to redefine the stylesheet on the fly. For chrome users, installing Stylebot will give you a tool where you can literally just select the component you want to change, change the fields from some existing choices, you are given a live preview of your changes, and poof.. the site changes permanently (in your browser's rendering) to the new settings. There should be similar extensions for other browsers, but Stylebot is pretty darn SIMPLE.. and you can even export and share style overlays.
I used it for instance to change the font of messages, increase the size of text that is important to ME, changed some colors, etc. Took all of about 2 minutes.
Example: I wanted quotes, messages, and user info stuff to be more legible for my tired eyes.

Thanks, now resolved. In polls I noticed that the bar graph portion is either missing or not contrasting enough for me to really see it

Ahh yes, looks much better! Thanks, now resolved.
Thanks for this. Didn't know where to find something less stark white. Though the "dimmed" is a bit clunky in color (it's just so beige) at least it's not so stark. I was one of the people who loved the light blue scheme before because white is hard on me due to light sensitivity issues and migraines.
My only other minor complaint is I really hate when sites have HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE tracts of empty space on either side of the main content. I get it's for mobile optimization but on my desktop it just means I'm only using 50% of my screen.
Try it on a 27 inch @ 2560x1440. You now have oceans on either side. I usually run my browser in a square just to compensate for websites.
Uh...the native resolution is 1920x1200
(That is odd if it's supposed to be 100% width. Because mine really really isn't.)
Fantastic! Thanks so much! There is a new style option available that will allow you to use maximum screen width. Head to the bottom left of the screen to select.
Something about it stretching across the entire width of my screen makes everything just right. There is a new style option available that will allow you to use maximum screen width. Head to the bottom left of the screen to select.
