Are they still open? I went to Weeki Watchee when The Daughter was around 5 years old, and absolutely crazy about mermaids. Let me tell you, she wanted to be one BEFORE the Little Mermaid was made, so I had to design and make a mermaid costume on my own. (Had she been born a few years later, I would have been able to buy one.)

It didn't look like a thriving park way back then; are they still in business?

I think they went out of business a while ago... I could be wrong though. The website's too funny. :lol:

EDIT: Looks like they are open, but a while ago I can vividly remember reading articles about closure. They must've been very close to closing it, and it looks like they still are... Official Weeki Wachee Springs Save Our Tails Website

They have hours of operation posted through December of this year. :shrug:

I hope to go to Weeki Wachee next week. Nobody else wants to go, but we'll be in Tampa. I wanna go see the mermaids. :\

I went to Weeki Wachee a few years ago. The mermaid show is really cheesy, but fun.
