Weekend getaway!

Saturday is our wedding anniversary and I'm surprising my DH with a weekend getaway to WDW. We can't go til September, but I've made all the reservations (plane tickets, 2 nights at POR:sohappy:, and dinner reservations at the Biergarten Saturday night). I can't wait to tell him Saturday!

My question is this: How crowded will the parks be at that time? I know from experience that September is a great time to be there, but given that we'll only be there on a weekend, does it get pretty crowded with locals then?

i would say take the wait times and multipl them by 1.5, most weekends are not bad when we have gone, although our last trip coincided with (i think) florida area schools spring break, and it went from near-deserted to crazy lines easily minimum at 90 mins.

Actually, according to the makers of the Unofficial Guide, Saturday is the least busy time at the MK...

You can check here for a rough guestimate about the crowds: http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm

Hope this helps! :)

My September experience was absolutely wonderful regarding crowds.. walked on nearly everything, I will hope the same for you. I can't imagine the w/e crowds being that bad. However,if there are lines be sure to breath in the fresh air and let it go, enjoy the spirit of your Anniversary celebration... WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE.. how bout I give you my wifes e-mail and you can giver her some pointers!!! :D (..just kidding, DW treats me great)

Hakuna Matata & Happy Anniversary!!

I told him!

Just to update -
I finally got to tell my DH about our getaway and he's really psyched for the trip - wish we could stay longer. I had to show him all the paperwork before he'd believe me though because I'm always saying "Let's run away to Disneyworld!":animwink:. So... we leave in 25 days - can't wait! Thanks for all your congrats!

Hey, you're so nice to do that!

The crowds shouldn't be too bad, you won't be able to walk on the E ticket attractions but you won't have to wait four hours.

But who cares, you're going to have a great time!
