Just booked Disney Nov. 17 (Friday before Thanksgiving) to Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving Day). I thought I would avoid rush leaving Thanksgiving Day. How crowded is it.

Thanksgiving
We went in 2005 for Thanksgiving...checking in the Saturday before and staying until the day after...
The first part of the week was great with a pretty low crowd. It got busier towards Thanksgiving -but not unbearable. We had an awesome time and would definitely go again at Thanksgiving.

My family is also visiting WDW 11/17 - 11/26
That works well with school vacation, and yes we have done it before and the crowd is light, compared to Christmas. After 12/15 it gets really crazy and I don't think I'll ever plan a trip in late December again.
The week following Thanksgiving is the best. I think the longest line i was in was published at 10 minutes but was actually less than 5 minutes. Which was also a bummer because some of the best parts of a ride are in the Queue line. Not experiencing the Queue area is like missing the first half of a movie.
